Are 10 years and above old games still worth playing?

xenogear is really fun game but i still like dragon warrior 4 the best on nes even better now that it was remade for ds.

Oh yeah! Rival Schools is pretty good! Good, unique roster of characters. The battle engine and concept is pretty unique (you can do a lot of actions and just on 4 buttons). Fav chars are from the sports high school! :D Didn't they (CAPCOM) make Rival Schools 2 on the Dreamcast console?

Evil Zone is BADASS!:disco: I'm suprised that some gamers hardly know of this "gem of a game". It's like playing dynamic chess. All that talk in the congratulations section about making a sequel! Damn! It would really be great if they did.:socute:

Xenogears is pretty good. Battle concept and mech design is awesome. Only thing I got against it is the confusing storyline. :D :hanabi:

Any guys/gals still have their Evil Zone disc with them? My disc has been with me for almost 10 years now.....AND IT STILL WORKS :D :socute: Just love playing it! The game may not have had the best graphics, but hey it was in 1998 right? I just love games that stand out and be different.

Any of you guys played the PS1 game "The Hunter" or so I believe its called? Chibi character design, you play it like "tactics", going around random maps to steal stuff, use cards to move or attack.

It was quite an interesting and irritating game at the same time. You can choose how your character looks and distribute his/her stats. It's irritating because it's a game of chance. Random maps and random placement of your character on the map.:onion200: I always wondered if there was a gameshark code for that.

Can you believe the Dreamcast is already 10 years old? Eventhough a majority of them arent even 9 years old yet and fall out of the category, they will be 10 eventually and i'll still have a urge to pop one in from time to time. As for games that are truly 10 years and above, of course they're worth playing. I'd consider using an emulator if I could tolerate playing with a keyboard. And yes, i know there are controller options but they just dont feel right.

If you ask me, Virtual Console is a blessing

(BTW I always like to challenge my friends to play the old guilty gear game. I always get a kick ending a match with an instant kill. They work so hard and in the end, one move puts their efforts to naught. The look on their faces: PRICELESS) :D

Yes I deserve to play and for those 10 years old I could not try them mostly because there was inspired by gaming manufacturers today and in addition offers curiosity and enthusiasm

most vintage games are the basis of the current hits. some of the older games actually have more depth then new releases, which blind gamers with eyecandy

Aliens with a very Will Smith feel to em, I love Toejam and Earl. I remember playing that when I was like 5 or so along with such classics as Earthworm Jim and Cool Spot (how awesome is that for originality, a character that is basically the cap of a bottle of Virgin Cola, sheer genius).

I've received a copy of breath of fire 4 from my mate. I borrowed it off him when I was in my second year of high school and now, almost 10 years later it is still challenging and fantastic. So nostalgic having a main character who doesn't actually say anything XD.

Also been playing Dracula X Chronicles on my PSP. For those that don't know it's basically Rondo of Blood remade with some better graphics and hidden game options. You can get the orginal snes version of the game to play as an unlockable or (and I nearly creamed when I unlocked this) Symphony of the Night. Symphony of the night was the first castlevania I played and it made me go back and play all the others and get all the gameboy ones then on. It is the pinnacle of side scrolling adventure. An absolute gem. So if you got a PSP and don't want to pay the near on £60 Symphony of the Night is going for on ebay, then Dracula X Chronicles is a must buy.

Super Metriod is a classic that will never get old. I played both Fusion and Zero Mission for the GBA and all those save points made the games easier. Old School difficulty is all but none-existant in this day in age. I beat Army of Two in six hours. Enough said. -_-

I like the Fallout series, however I don't view Fallout 3 as part of the series. It's more of a bastardized version of my beloved Fallout and Fallout 2.

However the Baldur's Gate series is what officially killed most JRPG's I played afterwards. It's a great set of games and anyone who's interested in great games should play these games.

[FONT=Times New Roman]Of course they're still worth playing! Look at Street of Rage 2, it started so much hype because of both game play, and kick A$$ music. Characters also seal the deal. We got Contra hard corps. which is a very good shooting game for its time. Sonic of course is a staple. Many more sega games which I can't think at the moment but you know what I mean.

SNES has nice library of games that I still play to this day. I still play Super Mario RPG, Sparkster, BattleToads and BattleManiacs, Super Mario 1, 3 and world(I skipped 2 because it was not all that lol), Breath of fire 1-2, demon crest(rare but GREAT), Donkey Kong Country 1-2, and much more.

To answer your question, YES!!!! because sometimes when they remake certain games they screw up big time. The best example is TMNT tournament fighters(SNES) with TMNT smash up(WII). I know it was from the creators of brawl but come on man their SUPERS were Broken. Since they took it out, this is their result and I am not surprised. Sorry about drifting off there:m-bata:.

I still find myself playing all of my old console's(List is to long). If you don't know what I mean I have every console that came out since 1985 the year I was born that's even handhelds. So YES old games are still good to play.

Why not go back to the C-64... the Commodore C-64 it had some great games that I actually play once in a while... Like "Kane" a wild west mix of three (well four) short games like shoting down birds with an arrow riding the horse to the next town having a shotout with the bad guys at the town then it's mounting the horse again and try to catch the train so it stops in time... every stage has 3 difficulty settings and it's repeated after completing every mini game

Still much fun... I guess in general it depends on you if you can enjoy very old games today if you are very interested in nice nifty graphics or if you can appreciate gameplay and somehow smile or even like the stone old graphic display from days long past.

I'm a gamer ever since.... yeah well let's say since my 12 birthday now I'm in my mid 30th and play games that are a couple of month old also games that are over 20 years old.

I say a good game knows no age... might be difficult to play it again if the emu refuses to run on your new OS and or your original hardware has died though.

hmm, sometimes when you get bored at all the cg's doing that and that 360° its better to play sideway games just like an icebreaker :P

i still play sonic classic, when they made classic to modern it somewhat looked like devolutionized :(
