I wish you the best of luck in this endeavor. At a later time I may start my own RP which adheres closer to my preferred template. I won't clutter this thread with further comments.

That's not a bad idea.
I'd like it if more people could start RP's.
I did come up with this sort of setting in only 5 minutes.
I've been awfully busy but I wanted to make one nevertheless.

Now put simply you are just supposed to write down things you've seen,
things you've done, people you suspect.
It can be anything.
For now there is little info available.
That's how things go in the beginning.
Towards the end there'll be more clues.

I'll just start of with my char.

We all knew what that meant. Another sleepless night.
I changed cloths again and started preparing some emergency equipment.
We really are short on people around here.
Even though nurses and doctors where upper class,
few people are interested in this line of work.
Can't really blame them. It takes a lot of studying and hard work.
And you never know when you'll be able to get some rest.
Lately there have been tons of accidents.
Last week a part of the library collapsed, and a month ago it was part of a house.
Is something wrong with the foundation? Or are this more than just accidents.
I quickly finished my coffee when the first load of patients came in.
5 deceased so far. Most victims where lower class.
The so called replaceable ones.
I couldn't help but smirk at that thought.
In the end I guess we all are... replaceable.[/COLOR]

As the others have done, you should've just written something without asking too many questions
It's a go with the flow type of rp
Even I don't have a 100% clear outcome yet
It can still go either way, and that's what I like about this type of rp

@ nnnmmm: you can come up with everything yourself for now

First off will be the killer's turn
As there's only a few of us, not only royalty will be targeted
The killer can kill whoever he wants
(People who suspect him/her, eyewitnesses, ...)

Zeru, one of Seigo's close colleagues, noticed that he has been acting "suspiciously" for some time. zeru recalled it's the 11th time he saw the Head doing this, if he was not wrong...
He decided to take an initiative to investigate this problem.

Name: Seigo Makoto
Job: Librarian

Seigo comes from a family of Historians. Not long after evacuating to Xenos, his parents decided to establish a public library. Due to financial difficulties, they appealed to the governor for sponsorship. It was approved, but with one condition : to provide members of government special access to classified information, as well as to guard those information from the commoners.
The huge library hires about hundreds of librarians as well as security officers. The library soon began to become a gathering place for scholars as well as the members of government. Yet Seigo's parents couldn't enjoy much of the prosperity that the library had brought. They died one after another due to sickness.
During the last moments of his father's life, Seigo was given a position of Head Librarian, albeit being the youngest of 3 brothers. Seigo had shown great interest in books, while his two brothers had took different paths. Despite his parent's death, Seigo still carry on his daily life as a Librarian. Being a Head Librarian, Seigo can easily gain access to the classified information.
One day., while accessing the classified information, Seigo found out that the government itself has dark secrets. The history that he had learned so far has mostly been altered to favor the government. The bitter truth made Seigo realize that he is working with the wrong side. To leak the classified information would mean shame to his family and death sentence. The government can make use of its power to control the media and influence its people. For the sake of justice, Seigo must search for power and support, and plan to begin a revolutionary era. "History indeed does repeat itself." Seigo thought.

Sorry to be a bother but I thought I'd ask some questions. As nothing has started yet it seemed a good time. No rush needed.

How exactly is this to progress? Is our goal to find the culprit or are we all suspects trying to avoid suspicion?

Is there an "investigator" trying to piece together the murder and if so should this be a player-character or a NPC that we can all use to advance our collective plotlines?

Are there any details of the murder we should know in order to implicate or throw suspicion from our characters?

What is our motivation for coming together or do we all get rounded up by the police or something?

Are there rules regarding NPC government officials and police personnel or does writers discretion apply?

I'm assuming all player-characters are within the same general area: Are there details of this place we should know or are we free to build however we want?

Has the governor declared martial law and if so what restrictions apply?

What are the rules for use of non-player but player created characters? Can we use/reference them without the creators permission?

I may have more later. Once again, I hope It's not a bother.

Name: Francisca Gallivare
Age: 24 years old
Occupation: Construction worker/Mech Operator
Earth Ethnic Origin: Mediterranean

The name Gallivare is a bastardization of Gallivarous and an indicator of illegitimacy. Children born to noble families but not admitted into their house often take these types of misnomers. Francisca is the daughter of Thermidor Gallivarous of the famed engineering family known for ship design and owners of several natural resource satellites.

Francisca gained prestige during the final campaigns of the Unification War which brought all planets into the fold under the rule of Xenos. Using this prestige she challenged her younger brother to a duel of succession to gain the title of Gallivarous House heir. Losing this duel Francisca was stripped of current rank and status and cast into the lower class.

She now uses her battle honed mech skills to work in the construction sector as the ace operator of the Rosenthal Corporation. Even an ace still has little status and low pay. Francisca bears an intense hatred to the current regime which only allows limited rights to illegitimate members of noble families. She also has a strong sense of superiority towards ground troops, considering them to be inferior to mech based soldiers and relics of the past. Despite her current standing she feels little sympathy for those of "low birth", hanging on to her noble heritage.

Francisca is prone to both rages and sexual promiscuity. She is of slender build and only 5'4 but still poses the strength needed to pilot a mech.She misses piloting war mechs but still loves her current, inferior, construction model.

I am still confused. Are things starting out before of after the murder?
If after then how can people go about any sort of normal routine with the officers randomly murdering people?
If there are no details on the murder what is the point of suspecting anyone? There would be no criteria.
With random killings why not presume the killer is already dead?
What is the motivation to find the actual killer? It doesn't seem like that would appease the current regime given its actions.

I thought this would progress more like a typical murder mystery with all our characters as the primary suspects but it's seeming more like a "life during wartime" situation.

I'm confused about what exactly we are supposed to write. There is no information on the murder so no way to look for the murder. The officers are apparently just randomly killing people so there's no way to try to have any sort investigation put together. Are non-officer characters just supposed to be running for their lives? I was expecting more clarity on the direction we should be going in.

Aren't you going to write an introduction of some sort? Or does the first post count as such?

I'll just drop out. There are far to many unknowns and too loose a structure. This seems more like a writing exercise than an actual role play.
