ughh, tired, but for anyone who cares, here how my weekend went down.
you know, with the combat drills and all
Friday - Headed to N.Y. city, so we could hang out for the day before training. Someone stole my cell, and other then that we had loads of fun.
Saturday. Woke up at four am so we could head down to Valley Forge. Me and the other 3 sergeants were to run the 30 or so new recruits through some drills. First we decided to run through some basic questions. Of course, everyone decided together that it would be a good idea to stick together. We said that it was a bad idea unless you are in a strong defensive position. They argued so we decided to teach them a lesson we hope they don't forget. So, we set up a drill where it was the four sergeants vs the thirty recruits. We were using TR's, or training rounds. TR's are plastic bullets filled with paint for those who dont know. Our rules were that whoever lost half of their team first, lost the drill. So, the first round, they sticked together for the most part, so my friend John took position in a second story window while me and another sergeant took up postions on connected roofs. Dan was hidden behind a wall with various windows. The recruits had to grab the flag in johns building.
So John had an M60 and chris and I had M16 A1's with scopes, while dan had an M4. So, they stayed together and after about 1:30 minutes in we had wipe out 15 of them. The second time around they were a bit more organized, and split into fire teams, but we still won. The third time, they tried attacking in waves, to find out where we were, but still tried a central assault. (we changed positions each time). The last time they won because they split into four groups matched up with one of us. they got chris out first, then dan, they nailed me in the face when i took off my glasses for a minute, so now right under my eye there is a massive red mark. John didnt get knocked out but they got the flag.
Sunday: We did some basic hostage drills and such, then we took turns being the reponse team and the terrorist teams. then i went home!
