Following calls from fans critical of Fight Night Round 4's current control options, EA is bringing a free alternative — and some other new content before that.

EA Sports announced two upcoming free releases of downloadable content for Fight Night Round 4 today. The first, slated for early August, will add a new gym, "new gameplay sliders" and new equipment plus an alternate version of Sugar Ray Leonard exclusive to the Xbox 360 version.

An early September release may be even more well-received as it will offer face-button control for all of Fight Night's punched. That update, for PS3 and Xbox 360 will be free.

The announcements follow the June 23 release of Fight Night Round 4, which won praise for its graphics and gameplay but took knocks for forcing players to only use the tilts and arcs of a controllers' right stick to throw punches and not offer a button-press option, as had been made available for Fight Night Round 3. (A DLC option was recently rumored.)

"We strongly believe that the refined Total Punch Control is the most intuitive way to throw punches in Fight Night Round 4," the game's senior producer, Dean Richards, said in a press release, "But we also want fans of the franchise to have an option."

EA sent Kotaku further information about the "new gameplay sliders" being offered in August. Those sliders will allow gamers to "tun and tweak the following attributes: Counter Punch Window, Boxer Stamina, Punch Accuracy.":m-bata:[/CENTER]

Now this is how you do a special edition. Activision and Infinity Ward look to be going all out for its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 "Prestige Edition," with not only the usual accoutrements like a special casing and an art book, but also what is described by Community Manager Robert "fourzerotwo" Bowling as a "fully functioning NVGs -- night vision goggles." No idea how well they work, but it's got alternating modes and MW2 branding. That's pretty awesome, but we gotta imagine it's gonna demand a pretty penny -- this is definitely more than that $80 "collector's edition" for $80 GameStop is currently listing. You won't be able to get your actual hands on the game until November at the earliest....

In addition to a copy of NBA 2K10, the limited collector’s edition includes: a numbered 2K Sports game storage locker with combination lock that can store up to 20 games, an exclusive figurine from McFarlane Toys featuring NBA 2K10 cover athlete and spokesman Kobe Bryant, a 16"x36" 2K Sports Kobe Bryant poster designed by Shepard Fairey's Studio N° 1, a NBA 2K10 10th anniversary video that explores the history of the NBA 2K franchise, and access to the Gold Room, NBA 2K10's VIP online lobby.

UPDATE: A source close to the product told TeamXbox that the special bundle will be announced on Tuesday morning, and that the package manufacturer's suggested price will be $99.99.

Namco Bandai announced the Tekken 6 preorder bundle today -- $149.99 USD for the game, an artbook, a calendar, and a fighting stick.

[CENTER] Then it comes out that Penny Arcade’s cardboard tube samurai is also part of the preorder. Well, only kind of. It’s not really a cardboard tube samurai, it’s Yoshimitsu with a cardboard tube samurai outfit. Still, though, those are some nice duds and weaponry he’s sporting. Not only that, but there are some samurai banners you can attach to any character you want too. Again, though, that's only when you preorder.

thanks for the heads up m8, another game to add to my ever expanding collection of ps3 games, yet i think $148 is kinda over priced.

The artbook and game is what I ended up preordering from my buddy who runs his little hole-in-the-wall game store for $70:m-bata: Never saw a need for a joystick controller(Been playing Tekken since I had the original PS lol)....

[SIZE=3]Rockstar just announced that Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City - which includes episodes, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony - will see light of day this coming October 29th. This upcoming disc release will feature both the new and "old" GTA IV episodes for $40 and doesn't require GTA IV to play.

With the dual episodes dated for release, one would assume that those just waiting to see The Ballad of Gay Tony as downloadable content should expect it at the same time. You know, because that's when a sane person would release it. That, and Rockstar usually have their heads screwed on.

[Update:] As predicted, The Ballad of Gay Tony also rolls out on to the Xbox Live Marketplace on October 29th for 1,600 Microsoft Points. Just thought I'd confirm it ... because I'm nice like that ... honestly! [/SIZE]

UK, July 24, 2009 - Halo: Reach will be Bungie's final Halo game, with the company moving on to new projects following completion of the title next year.

Halo: Combat Evolved marked the series' debut on the first Xbox back in 2001, and since then Bungie has gone on to create one of the definitive videogame franchises with the second and third instalments of the game. Halo 3: ODST is due this September, while Halo: Reach - which goes back to the origins of the Halo story - is expected next autumn.

"After Reach that's it for us," Bungie's Lars Bakken told IGN. "We're already working on a new IP that we can't talk about yet, I don't know when we'll be talking about it - when we're ready I suppose."

Bakken was cryptic as to the nature of Bungie's next game - though suggested that it may well step away from the first person mechanics that have defined the studio's output for the past decade; "If you look at Bungie's past we've done a lot of different styles - first person to third person to RTS - so it could be anything."

Future Halo games will be overseen by the recently revealed 343 Industries, which is headed up by former Bungie employee Frank O'Connor.[/SIZE][/FONT] [/CENTER]

Deborah Mars, managing producer of SCEA Santa Monica Studio, made the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, indicating that the game will be released simultaneously in North America, Europe, and Asia. Japan will see the game at a later date.

The game features two clans of players in a comic medieval battle. You are tasked with rescuing your beloved princess from the enemy dungeon. Of course it won’t be that simple: your opponents have stuffed her with food, requiring most of your army to work together to carry her back home.[/SIZE][/FONT] [/CENTER]

Hayashi from Team NINJA here. The last few weeks since our last post have been extremely busy for our team, putting the final touches on the game. This is our first attempt in releasing our game simultaneously in all three regions, but we’re confident we can make it happen.

We’re excited to see the response and feedback to the all-new Team Missions mode (and everything else we’ve shared so far), and today I’d like to introduce two additional, new features of the game.

The first reveal is Chapter Challenge Mode. The mode will become available once you clear Story Mode – you can go back to your favorite chapter and replay to compete with fellow ninjas around the world for the highest Karma score. After clearing the chapter, you will be ranked based on your total Karma score. The highest rank – of course – is “MASTER NINJA” and the lowest is “NINJA DOG”. You also have the option to review your gameplay in Ninja Cinema (which is also available in Team Missions) and share your videos online and download videos of other players. Online rankings are sorted by chapter and difficulty level. It’s entirely up to you whether you want to rank in all difficulty levels or master a certain chapter…just be ready for the challenge!

The second reveal is Ninja Records. In order to keep up with how well (or bad…) you’re performing, we figured it would be nice to have a place where you can view your complete stats from fastest mission time, number of enemies defeated, numbers of Izuna drops, maximum combos, rescues, character usage rate in Team Missions mode, number of playthroughs…and more. Ninja Records will keep track of your moves performed in both Story Mode and Team Missions. You’ll be able to pull it up anytime from the title menu screen, so use it to learn more about your own play style. The best part of this is that you can also share your stats online!

Another piece of good news – that’s not directly related to the game but still exciting – is we’ll be adding an official soundtrack, packed with over 30 tracks, to our Collector’s Edition! That’s in addition to the 80-page exclusive book that features a prologue comic, mini-strategy guide and art gallery. Check this out:

After seeing the game myself months ago at E3, I had no doubt in my mind that this game would have a huge PC following when it is released in Spring of 2010. It’s one of them things that you need to see yourself to know exactly why this game will have a strong community following, but I can guarantee you this game will be huge.

I am not going to give another run down of why I think this game will have a huge community because for those that follow The Koalition, you will know of the hype campaign we have built for this game.

Just print screen this article and mark my words from now that APB will out do World Of Warcraft as best MMO (it will be released for the PC before we see it on consoles of course). Now remember that I am not saying that the game will topple World Of Warcraft upon release, I am saying that at some point after APB is released it will gain a huge PC following to the point it out performs “WOW”.

Now I know your all yelling, asking what my facts are to back up my claim, so here it goes.
