Lately I haven't had time to game much. I've been spending more time working on the website and watching series like Castle in my spare time. @Quirk how are your gaming days going?

I have been trying to finish the last God Of War Game, trying be the word. I reached an annoying fight where you have to fight multiple enemies in multiple rounds with little to no health recovery between.
Damn I hate elevator levels.

X Rebirth has a new dlc out that I got for free just because I owned the game already. So I might jump back into X Rebirth then.

But I don't really have much time and when I do I am usually too tired to play a game.

I hear that. There are so many games out there that I need to play, but a lot of times at the end of the day I just don't have the mental fortitude to do so. It can get really tiring after an hour of stressful gaming like in GoW where you die, and all the progress is reset.

Well I haven't returned to the God of War Ascension game yet, but whatever.
I have been playing Dark Souls 2 and some Hearthstone, which is a free-to-play(optional real world money to buy in game things) card game by blizzard. Think Yu-gi-oh, but with less variety in card types and a more basic gaming system. I should probably see what the latest Yu-gi-oh games are like, I played the ones on Gameboy and they were fun.

Hearthstone is fun, unless the lag sets in. I am using the Asia server, because that is the closest server, but perhaps I should see if the other servers are better. Though I know some the lag I am experiencing at the moment is due to my internet suddenly dropping to nothing every so often. I had to concede a few matches just because of lag, and even then the lag made the concede take about a minute to work.

Sadly, I haven't had time to play games lately. I've been watching a lot of series. I'm looking for new racing sims to replace Dirt 3 but sadly I haven't found anything yet. I wish there would be a nice street race / simulation combi. We can't really call Need for Speed a simulation.

I completed a survey a while back, probably a year or more, from Codemasters, about a new Dirt game.
Many of the questions were things like do you want Rally or that other crap Gymkhana shit thing?
I just want a new game like Dirt 1.

So I think they are planning to make another game in the series and so far from what I heard they are leaning towards a more rally focused game. But who knows.

@rjd22 have you tried the WRC games? I keep meaning to try them, but either forget or get put off by negative opinions on the internet.

I'm not trying the wrc game for the same reason. Grid is more track racing and there is a refurbished Collin McRay but I don't feel like buying an old game. It feels like years that a really good racing game has been released.

I miss the old days of yugioh and Pokemon. I sat down and played a game with a bunch of younger kids at the library and its become so complicated (interestingly enough my 8+ year old deck whooped their butts left and right) As for dark souls, how is it. I've been hesitant to buy it because I'm much more of a strategy gamer these days.

What kind of strategy games do you enjoy? I've always been a huge age of empires fan and command & conquer.

I love the old Yu-gi-oh games, even Hearthstone isn't close to the fun I had playing Yu-gi-oh on the Gameboy(emu). Though I am being smashed at Hearthstone, I fought against a mage with half their cards being golden versions, which kind of indicates how much they have played.

I am looking into buying Crusader Kings 2. That looks like a pretty cool strategy game. While the Xcom games also look interesting.

As for Dark Souls, I am a massive fan of the series owning Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1 and 2. I loved them all, there is a bit of strategy in how you have to face certain foes. Some enemies can be killed with sword, others are too dangerous to go near and so you snipe with spells or arrows.
I have nearly finished Dark Souls 2, I think I have about 90 hours. I think by the time I finish I will be over 100 hours.

I really miss yugioh and the sorts of good ol tabletop card games. Have you tried shadow of mordor? That's my "game of the year" as it were for 2014. Seems similar to the idea that you need to think about how to kill bosses. It plays a little bit too much like assassians creed, but the nemisis system is what makes the fame so special!

On a different tanget, as a new player to dark souls, should I try 1 or 2 first?

So Demon Souls is the first game, but really all the games are connected and not related.
Dark Souls might have a few references to Demon Souls, and Dark Souls 2 might have a few references to Dark Souls 1. But they are just instances of lore, interesting, but not necessary to understand any greater plot spanning the games.

Try playing Dark Souls 1, just because it will be cheaper and a slightly easier difficulty. Surprisingly Dark Souls 2 was harder than Dark Souls 1, even after people thought the dev's were softening the game.
I really enjoyed Demon Souls, though it is not as graphically advanced as the Dark Souls series, if graphics are something you worry about.

I want to play Shadow of Mordor, but I will wait until I have a PS4 until I buy it. The game looks interesting.

I also have a 3DS and haven't updated the firmware, in hopes of getting the gateway card. I still haven't been to the shop where they sell them games in a long time so not even sure if it is available locally near me.

Still I am looking forward to getting the NewN3DS-XL but till now, there haven't been any appealing Special Editions released for it. The non XL version has its swappable plate system but I'm looking for the XL version as I already have the old small 3DS and an upgrade to a bigger screen and hardware should be the way to go.

There was a Persona Special Edition released that I really liked but that was only for the smaller older 3DS.. If I'm not mistaken, still not the newNintendo3DS so meh. They really need to hurry up and release a good limited edition pack.

I also have a Pokemon-X for my 3DS but because I haven't updated the console and game firmware, I can't do any online play so no trading, battling and stuff available to me :[

The Souls game are quite appealing. I only played the first on of the series on the PS3 but I've seen trailers and game-plays of the others and it does seem enjoyable. BloodBourne is the same but only downside that its not on the PC and I don't plan to get a PS4 yet (it needs a price drop and a good Limited edition Skin. All the current one are extremely off putting)

The Batman Arkham Knight really seems like something to own/play when it comes out. I've only played the first game of that series as well but the Arkham Knight does look way more appealing. I really like the vehicles in that game.

I haven't played any games lately, but I will soon.
I saw the new trailer for the new Star Wars game, which looked cool. Though they took their sweet time to make a trailer and announce the release date, which will probably be pushed back.

Saw a new Just Cause is coming out, which looks awesome. I did love Just Cause 2. And of course the new Uncharted will be out sometime.

I am tempted to buy a PS4, but only when a bundle comes out that I like all the games. At the moment a PS4 is around $550 with a controller. Though you can get a 4 game bundle with a controller and the PS4 for $550..... Don't know how that makes economic/common sense, especially when they already run at a loss with the console.
So yeah when they have the games I want, I might get it.

Was never a fan of uncharted but the latest one (4) does look pretty decent.

These are just on the tip of my tongue but I'm sure there were plenty more that I liked that were shown at E3

Also I thought I would finally buy a PS4 but then they did a mean move.
They released the 1TB Gamer Edition PS4 in America (meaning English version) but what they did was just increase the HDD.

The Jap's when the initially released the 1TB Edition, they did a complete overhaul of the PS4 Hardware / software specs.
So now if we want the better version of the PS4 with 1TB... us Non-Japanese speaking folk must wait even longer till they announce if they will release the Jap-type upgraded PS4 (which logically they should but you know, money schemes.. they won't do it anytime soon, till a lot of the basic 1TB editions are sold < __< )

And I still haven't gotten the Nintendo New 3DS (NN3DS) the North American versions are still only in the basic colors (I'm looking to get the XL version) Red / Black / and now Blue is coming out or already out. But still no decent Limited-Editions. The PAL/Euro have more colors out but I already have a PAL normal Old-3DS so I'm really hoping to get a different region one. That way I get two birds (two 3DS's for multiplayer gaming plus extra bonus rewards for it being of a different Region ). Granted it doesn't make much of a difference in most games but I still like Pokemon series and it helps if you trade with different regions than of the same region. :D
