Which OS do you use as fav one...
When it comes to Linux/Unix plz tell me which distro and which Windowmanager..

Well for me it is mainly Debian/etch with KDE (mostly I use the console)
and sometimes (I wish I didn't have to) I use XP, for gaming, FLStudio and several other appz...

So what about you guys eh?

I like FreeBSD its not linux, Mac OS or windows. Its totally different.

I use Win for games and coding tho

Free BSD is an pure core without anything. Just see it as the EXE core system of windows. All applications of windows run on that exe system.

FreeBSD is just the same but is doesn't have any other appliacations. So if you want to run an webserver you have to install it.

XP is good for normal work but for servers its really unsecure...

We even hacked our school server yesterday with memory spoofing

and installing on a Freebsd system can become a pain in the ass. You have to use the ports system to do it, which just downloads the source for whaetever you want, that needs to be compilied (most of the time there isn't any compliation errors) and then it will be installed; however, most of the time there are some hard to do post installation things which can make the average computer user very frustrated :P

Right now, I'm using Windows 7 because of my games and applications. I've tried OSX..I didnt like it...(mostly there's no right click :P )

I considered Linux, but when I saw all the tweaking I had to do to get VLC to run, I ran in fear.

I liked Novell back in the day. You'd set that bad-boy up, and just forget about it. Only drawback it was a memory hog. A server needed 1GB of RAM, and it was good to go.

Them's fightin' words. But seriously, it was a great OS up until about 2000. Then MS gained the upper hand in the network wars. Problem is, Novell simply could not keep up with all the new portable devices, plus the fact that networks are plugged in seamlessly to the inet. We had problems setting up migrating accounts, for laptop/palm users. And the security wasn't as robust as what MS provided. It's just that, so many things go wrong with a MS system vs. a handful on the old Novell.

I'm testing a triple boot machine: XP, Vista, Ubuntu formating the drive now

Ubuntu:

Positive:
-Effective 64-bit OS so far.
-No viruses, built in security
-It's free

Drawbacks:

-Can't find a good ogm/mkv player
-Driver issues(sound, video)
-Learning curve on the GUI/CLI switches

Vista:

Positive:
-effectively utilizes the speed of new technology
-Direct X 10, and gaming
-eye candy

Drawback:
-runs like molasses on older machines
-annoying security features, UAC for example
-eye candy eats resources

XP:

Positives:
-tried, tested, comfortable
-most software works on it
-less annoying than Vista

Negatives:
-Does not like new technology(it took me 12 hours to fix a HD Audio issue)
-It's showing it's age(lack of multiprocessor support, RAM over 4GB, 32-bit limits)
-Doesn't come with drive encryption like Vista and Ubuntu.

As soon as ubuntu offers better driver support, a good mkv/ogm player, and I can use gametap on it, I'm going straight ubuntu.

I've been working with Macs this month, they're ok.

Pros:
-simple interface
-cool look
-powerful hardware

Cons:
-proprietary system, makes for lack of customization
-does not work well with VPN
-the security on it seems easy to break

I don't have one anymore.

I've tasted the fruits of temptation from Apple, Unix, and M$, they all have some nice features but are far from perfect.

Ubuntu with Gnome, but sometimes I also use Windows XP for gaming and photoshop.
