Anime to avoid at all costs

I need a warning as to what anime to avoid alltogether. So I'm wondering if anyone created a haz-mat thread. I'll simply warn you all to stay away from Apo...

What didn't you like about Afro Samurai? Okay...the dub was horrible here and there, but hey, random fights of crazy people? Who wouldn't wanna see that? :P

I think it was pretty cool, because it was merely 5 episodes and it seemed like a nice little experiment. Though the manga had existed for years, I think, before it was animated.
It would have sucked if they had made a lot more episodes.

From what I've seen in many Japanese fads, there's no such govenor, they go all out.

I once read that child pornography was legal in Japan until 10 years ago or something...dunno if that's true O_O

It's not considered taboo. Yeah it's true, I've seen some of the old vids. Apparently a lot of countries were making that stuff. Over in the Netherlands they broke up a big CP ring about 2 years ago.

Westernization of the world has led to a big swing in keeping the stuff away from mainstream.

Authorities in Europe are breaking up a lot of CP networks these days ^^

I like cute, just as long as it doesn't dominate the film. Like Pokemon, actually ashamed to say I liked to watch it at times(I liked Jesse).

Yeah, the "sugar plum fairy type" as you have put it so well.
I don't mind if some of the characters are cute in anime, but they shouldn't all be cute.

hm ok the splatter was cool :P

I thought the animation looked cool...yes, some parts werent that great. But as I said, it was a nice 'experiment'. I'm sure it also made anime a lot more popular in the States.

Boondocks is not an anime... it's a american cartoon kinda like family guy but less funny and more sterotypical of a common american inner city. I really don't like it either >.> But then again I don't like most american TV shows.

Well as dave said, it is an american cartoon, but its drawing style is more like the one of afro samurai...., so I call it an anitoon now. :)...

As for anime to avoid at all costs, I can't really think of anything. Avoid stuff like FLCL, Paranoia Agent, Broken Saints, etc if you don't have much patience :P

But you said that Paranoia Agent was one of your favorite series...

Sounds like a good anime to me though.

I would avoid Big O it is one of the worst mecha animes ever (I would say Gundam (all of them) but that'll lead to about 20-30 threads of disagreeing with me and I don't feel like arguing so I won't) and oh god...Mouse...what were the producers thinking?!? If you watched the first two eps of it you'll probably won't watch the rest cuz it is THAT bad.
