This may sound dumb, but...what is your projected "Target Audience"? What type of members are you looking for? Is there a target age group, like Highschool+, College+,Teens 12+,etc. ?
There's a reason I ask- in order to come up with good ideas to attract members and posters,the ideas need to be age-appropriate or age group- oriented. My two daughters have been in a High school Anime/Manga fan club, and have friends both in clubs and participants in our local Anime convention (not large by most standards, but at least we have one!). As such, it's possible I can get them to steer local traffic this way.... however, depending on what your target audience is, that either may or may NOT be a good idea!
I also have a few friends and acquaintances at my school, ages 19-40+, who may be interested as well, but there would probably need to be something to attract them or entice them to stay other than just downloads( and no, not Hentai...believe it or not, these guys do not like hentai!) ;)
Besides the computer classes I am taking, and the Graphics/Multimedia, I have had to take a couple business classes, so I know about targetting and such. I'm also taking some web designing classes but nothing more severe than HTML and Dreamweaver at this point :(
If there's any way I can help, just let me know. Yeah, I know, I have not always been around..but up to this point, this site has been kindof a free-time relaxation point for me, and free time is rare, lol! But...if I can actually contribute in some way, as other than finding other posts, uploading is difficult for me (all I have are free accounts at places)... so maybe I can help out in other ways like contributing ideas, helping attract members, advertising, and the like.
besides, any pro-bono "work" I can do may look good on a future resume' ! ;)
