When I was a kid I used to know some Bosnians, I thought they were so cool when they spoke Bosnian...
Maybe it'll end up on my list of "language to learn" some day...

As long as the grammar is more or less logical (unlike some other languages...coughFrenchcough) I'm willing to learn :)

But I'm going to learn Japanese, Swedish and Korean first :)

I'm always up for a challenge...as long as the game makes sense...if you know what I mean.

I didn't like French, because the grammar wasn't very logical...it was like they made it extra complicated so no one would learn their language properly or something...It's filled with exceptions upon exception...

Japanese on the other hand...such nice grammar and very logical from what I've seen so far.

Actually, xyw, I'm quite familiar with several different kinds of grammar. But I simply find the French grammar to be overcomplicated (meaning, it complicates things while it shouldn't).

As a scientist I like things to be simple and elegant, like the Japanese grammar. Of course no grammar is perfect. But I simply hate messy grammar (french).

That's not true, the way kids learn languages is very different than the way adults do. That's why kids always pick up languages much better and faster than adults do.

well, grammar is the essential part of Japanese I believe (of any language). But I believe it would be difficult to fully understand the Japanese grammar on your own, since it's very unique compared to other languages (except for Korean, since Japanese and Korean have almost the exact grammatical structure).

Not really...because they could have a completely different meaning if you change their order somewhat :) That is why grammar is essential.

It's like knowing all the pieces in chess, but not knowing how they move.

I don't realy hate french. The language sounds nice and all and i sometimes even listen to french music (alizée), but i so DON'T wanna learn it.

Why? Cause i suck at it :S
french grammar is so much more complicated than english. I had to learn it at school and it was my worst subject for 4 years.
And thats the whole reason why i'd rather not speak it -.-

Though i have to admit that german sucks just as much. but it's a different story when you have to learn a language as 2nd or 3rd one compared to your first language.
I also learned latin and sucked just as much. But my latin grades never counted, so who cares.

In my first 2 or 3 years at high school I used to be top of my class at German and French and then after that, I started to suck so hard...
Probably 'cause I simply lost interest those languages...but I regret it now, cuz I feel I've wasted my time not learning them properly.
