Yeah, that was pretty sad, but I personally didnt feel too much sympathy for Lelouch. He may have changed the world for the better, but he did it with so much bloodshed that the end result was no different than the starting point. Although I have always had a feeling that he was still alive at the end due to C-2 talking to him in that horse drawn carriage. This might be true because he may have gained immortality as a result of using Geass so much. Regardless, the series was good, but justification for such acts as his is almost non-existent, and therefore I didnt feel too much emotion. Although i admit the ending theme was well done.
Personally, the ending of the Rurouni Kenshin movie Samurai X: Reflection stung me at the heart, when he...open the spoiler below at your own behest
