[/FONT][/SIZE] [FONT=Century Gothic][SIZE=3]The game was first unveiled as an exclusive to the PlayStation 3 platform at Sony’s E3 Press Conference in 2006. The US version of Final Fantasy XIII was also shown at this time. The game was to run on Square Enix’s proprietary White Engine that was specifically designed exclusively on the PlayStation 3 platform. It was slated to use four of the seven processors in the Cell processor just for graphics alone. The White Engine was designed according to world renowned developer Tetsuya Nomura (Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, The Bouncer, etc) to simulate battle sequences similar to Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete. He at one time via Famitsu stated that “all visions come true” when a game is exclusive. Also on his stance on the PlayStation 3 in regards to Final Fantasy XIII at that time being exclusive to that platform, Nomura stated via QJ.net “It’s not just about how pretty the graphics are but more of how much limited amount of movement we can put on one go and how big our imagination and ideas are. The PS3 is the machine that is closest to being able to express our imagination.”

one thing that concerns me is that, I heard this rumor about square saying that ffXIII is being made on an engine that right now only plays on pc.......that they are still trying to figure out how to play it in ps3.....(well I read this on a mag in my country)........

now if that is true, that is what I call GREAT!!!

The multiplatform thing is purely up to individual taste, as I doubt there will be too many graphical differences. I dont think there will be any performance issues either with the 360 version if your Xbox is actually up to snuff and not barely wheezing to get by in its existence. Personally, I am glad that Square Enix took a stab at the 360, because they acknowledge that there are 360 users who like FF as well, and want the same experience as any PS3 user. Sure, they want more money as well, but its speculative whether that it is the only reason. I doubt it is. I just dont like it when people blast the 360 for no reason, and especially when they havent even played the game on the system. Remember people...you can still play the game on the PS3. Criticizing the fact that the game will go gold on both systems just proves you are a fanboy, and fanboys we all know are a little on the insane side. Cheers.

Well, lol, thats an entirely different story. I preordered the game on the PS3, and thats not because its necessarily better. I just want the old feeling of the PS3 with FF, thats all. Reminds me of playing FFVII on the PS1, haha. Cheers.

I was actually pissed @ how they shit-canned the initial project which was a ps3 exclusive, and then found out they deleted some content on the game to scale it back... I'm never one to play the "which system is better", although I'm just too accustomed to the ps3 controller to really enjoy playing the same game from either system(but I know that can go either way for anyone - all based on preference:P), the only thing that stopped me from buying the 360 was the paying for online thing-.-.

I dont have a PS3, lol...im just gonna borrow a friends when i get the game. Ill buy a PS3 for my self when I get some more money. Maybe then we can hook up on PSN and play a few games. :)

[FONT=Century Gothic]I'm with you as far as being a life-long fan Bolt, but I'm speaking in general terms here since although FF's franchise gained steam through the Famicom and Super Famicom (NES/SNES 'Stateside), the franchise was launched into the public eye with FF VII (even with it not being my favorite of the series - I actually preferred VIII and X :P) I'm just mad that the game will feel like it should have been more than just a multi-platformer with a chopped down experience... here's hoping for DLC:m-bata: and yes that track is hot^^[/FONT]

I was so distraught over Square-Enix's refusal of putting out a FF title for xbox. It just pushes chivalry and loyalty out of the window and proves my discontent with the business world: money's the name of the game damn-near everywhere.
