Hey mark, thats why I shall never buy a computer for gaming, in 6 months the $$$ you forked out for the up to date stuff is wasted, Because every 6 months or so, they release new hardware and such. And since dev's love to make the best games they can, they make it so you need the new hardware. Also alot of games have issues with certain sound and graphics cards, won't play certain brands or models. bah!
Any you are right on the games that came out with the PS2 compared to the ones that came out later. The game dev's first were wasteful with the PS2's power, but soon learned the best way to get all out of it. And the same with PS3, Sony has said that most games haven't yet got to the limit of the PS3's power.
But what annoys me, is that you play these games and then they crash, what!!!! I thought They were no where near the limit! I once lost FOUR hours of important gameplay on Oblivion ES5, i nearly cried. I was so immersed in the gameplay, something which the dev's want, that I forgot to save.ARRRGGGGH! Dammit most games have automatic save points, why can't you?
