Gap Year?

I'm thinking of taking a gap year to travel the world, learn different cultures and languages, do some photography work and to maybe write a book. Everyone...

It's really cool that you've decided to do this, Rio. Florida is awesome, but only close to New York when you look at the other distances involved in your trip. All your possible destinations are awesome.

OK my rough plan so far is....

go to America for 2 months (florida and visit NY)

visit my relatives in england

move to Switzerland for 4 months

stay in Italy for a while

go to Japan for 4 months (tokyo :D)

maybe visit Australia

I think you should go for the gap year. I had an amazing time on mine, went to Kenya with Aventure Gap Year Projects, was absolutely amazing. Was pretty scared before the off, but my nerves soon disappeared, and it was a total 'growing' experience. I reckon it really helped me before going to uni - and I'd do it again at the drop of a hat. If you're still deciding, there's a great page on the BBC website that gives advice about gap years too.

I think its a good idea, I wasn't against any of my kids taking a year off before uni, it gave them time to relax and unwind from many years at school especially the last few years and also time to find a direction and experience other things before knuckling down to their chosen path.

I wish I had thought more about traveling when I was younger and discovering more things to help find a direction in life. :cebollita24:
