Anime or cartoon which one is better in your opinion and why?

I have a general question about fantasy world ,
what is differnt between cartoon and anime?
So what do you all think is anime a cartoon?!?! And do you get angry when someone calls anime a cartoon!??!

the difference is that anime anime the chars are more realistic the body is better drawed and it does matter how it looks like.

I'm cartoon it doen't matter how the face and body looks like there are no limits and it doesn't have to be realistic.

If were gonna talk about old classic humor cartoons are the best(Tom and Jerry and the Disneys) But for fun for older people I like humor anime. Like Great Teacher Onizuka

wow jonny legend that production studio is long gone if I remember. That they still sell DVD's of it.

Yeah, just compare something like totally spies (Cartoon) and Black Cat (Anime). Though there is something in common, Black Cat is way more detailed.

(Also, you remember some parts of FMA where they look like cartoons?, that's what I'm talking about)

I agree on that one wispy, anime is just a type of cartoon, but it's better than western cartoons 8)

Now you're talking about, which system has a better flow of exchange of info. And in that case the Japanese beat all hands down. Copyright laws, and ego battles ruin tons of American media exchange projects, but the Japanese seem to rarely run into the problem.

Not just money, but hubris and ego. It's frustrating to watch some actor get the big head and say how much he hates a series, and how it's beneath him to do another sequel(ex: Alec Guiness, Star Wars).

Hard to say, you see works by cartoonists like Bill Plympton, and while it's not the best drawn work, it's eccentric and funny. Then you see anime like Apocalypse Zero, and wonder what's wrong with the company that green lights such garbage. I'm a toon hound, I like it all. From Animaniacs to YuYu Hakusho(can't find any anime that starts with Z).

It's always funny to me how anime and other cartoons feed off each other. The concepts, the artwork, even the storylines. Of course, nowadays, with more and more US animation being outsourced to Korea, and other Asian countries, the lines between anime and cartoons is starting to blur. Ex: Teen Titans, Simpsons, etc.

Hell no by all means watch it. But I will warn all y'all that it's mighty deep in philosophy and metaphysics. As for cartoons for the entire family try old Dick Tracy or Batman when he kneecapped folks.

All science is, is a question asked, then someone pokes around for the answer. Philosophy is the basis of science. Why are we here? Well science says it was cosmic dust, or a comet with a nitrogen filled core, or aliens seeding planets, or lightning struck some mud. Pretty soon you learn no answer is absolute.

I'll get back on topic. I just recently watched a DVD called Johnny Legend's Weird Cartoons:

Old cartoon from the 20's to the 50's. Old cartoons are pretty surreal, I was watching old minstrel cartoons from the 40's. They were still making those kind of cartoons deep into the 40's, amazing.
