Black Friday is always the friday after thanksgiving, the start of the "shopping season" in the USA. It has the best deals.. Most people get up at 3 am and camp out in front of the store to wait for an item. (thats me)
Here, there was a laptop for about $300 when it was usually two+ times that amount.

thanksgiving is when Europeans first settled America. during the first winter they struggled and the natives helped them out. we celebrate the help they gave us(before we slaughtered them) by giving thanks to all that we have. that is quick summery of it.
