Plot:
The series begins in AW 0015 15 years after the colonies crashed into Earth as a result of the SRA`s final push towards the ultimate victory, thus destroying the surface of the planet. The story resolves around Garrod Ran, a 15 years old hot headed boy, who is famous for being able to pull off dificult tasks. He is asked to rescue a girl held captive by vultures, and eventually he ends up in the cockpit of the GX-9900 Gundam X, and later in the crew of the Freeden-a Vulture ship whos captain wants to find and preserve newtypes from being used by people.
Characters:
Garrod Ran:
The main hero of the series. He is a hot-headed youth, with great talent for piloting mobile suits and very good in adapting to different situations. He is thought to be the best pilot in the series because he has beaten the largest number of newtype pilots in the series.
Tiffa Adill:
A newtype girl born with the newtype powers. she was kidnapped from the research facility by the Freeden in order to protect her and later helps Garrod to find the GX. After being kidnapped by the SRA she helps Dawell Lancelow to understand that he can still change the future.
Jamil Neate:
An ex-newtype who lost his powers after firing the satellite cannon and causing the colonies to crash on earth. While fighting with Dawell Lancelow he sees a future which he tries to make as the captain of the Freeden.
Dawell Lancelow:
An ace pilot of the SRA, he was the arch rival of Jamil without seeing his face even once. the first time he met him was during the before final episode on D.O.M.E. . After talking to Tiffa and hs friends Nicholas death he goes and switches sides to Garrod and the other`s team.
Own opinion:
Although this anime is pretty old, it still can beat some of the newer animes, in all aspects and as a mecha anime its one of the best Ive seen. It isnt one of those animes, where the main hero singlehandedly an beat all the enemies in a jiffy, an aspect I hated in Gundam Wing, Gundam X Garrod no matter how good he is isnt a killing machine that can own the whole universe and be back by lunch time he has his weaknesses and loses sometimes as well.
Judgement:
A great anime, recommend it to every one who doesnt feel bad about fact its old and doesnt have Gundam SEEDs graphics, or the slaughter of Gundam Wing.
