Does anime affect your perception of real life?

Well, does it? Would you rather have one of the women from Ikkitousen or a real one? (be honest now, hah). Would you rather be in Mega Tokyo or in your hometown? In other words, does anime (or hentai for that matter) affect your perception of reality? If so, how much? How do you compare one world to the other?

My personal take is that, sure, some anime women are sexy and I wouldnt mind them, but in reality, its not the real world and that makes life around a hypothetical anime reality impossible for me. I wouldnt mind touring an animated Japan for instance, but it doesnt compare to the raw hustle and bustle of the real thing. What do you think?

P.S. Dont limit yourself to my examples above. Take into consideration the main question. :)

Since most of the hentai out there is big boobs, and not nice round Brazilian type booty, no, doesn't affect my perception one bit.

Besides between American football and Star Trek, my perception is already pretty skewed. Then there's the weed, and the psycho meds, and the tequila, and the bad childhood memories, and the PO, and the baby-mama drama. Then there was the incident in Argentina with the coke mule...

Hentai still doesn't get the genitalia right. The artists are great at drawing boobs, but the actual good stuff is proportioned wrong, or spatially incorrect.

Now as for anime itself, if you have any respect for Newtonian/Relativistic Physics, anime gets to be a real laugh fest for you.

However it would be cool if people actually were potential nuclear power plants.

Seems turtle hermit training actually does exist.

For centuries, soldiers and athletes would wear weighted vests while training to gain speed, strength, and endurance.

I can honestly say that anime did not alter my perception of reality...

I thought I was god, long before watching anime.

Usually in an anime, when a character wants to change gender, there's still black magic involved.

Nanoprobes and retroviruses haven't entered the Japanese Sci-Fi lexicon, I guess.

Maybe the question is valid. I watch anime and see characters with rainbow colors of hair, big doll eyes, and alabaster skin. Then I think, that must be what the Japanese look like. But alas no, this is what a typical citizen of Japan looks like.

I blast inside, she doesn't get pregnant.
No STDs in anime.
Gravity defying boobs.
She's always in the mood, and doesn't complain
She's flawless.

Real Chick:

Has depth (emotionally, spacially (anime is 2-D)).
Is imperfect (a perfect chick can be intimidating).
Has an ass, anime chicks can sometimes lack in that dept.

It's that real life ruins my perception of anime.

I watch and think, "That never happens in real life"

I don't think it really affects my perception of reality. Like with video games, I know that reality is very different.

What scares me is that if some people can't really see the difference between reality and anime anymore, how they see the world after watching Elfen Lied, Gantz or some other gruesome anime.

Yes, actually the proportions in anime/manga are supposed to be different. That's one of the things that sets it apart from "normal" animation.

I'm just glad people irl don't look like that...it would really creep me out.

maybe not me and my friends so much, but when we went to see the Death Note movie at a theater here a few days ago, almost everyone else there was dressed like L, heh.

(then again we have enough esoteric inside jokes going on, i'm really in no place to talk XD)

Sometimes anime do affect my perception especially if it tells the truth. And when I think about it I realize that they have some point.
