i watch anime streaming 'cause last time i downloaded it, i got into trouble.... um, i would buy it to support the company, but, in my opinion, more often than not you're paying $20 for three crappy sounding, horribly dubbed episodes. Therefore, i refuse to purchase it unless it includes the original japanese audio.
as for manga, i read some of it online, and then buy my favorites at the bookstore 'cause it supports the company and artist, but it's too expensive for me to buy everything that i read. also, i was banned from buying manga recently. my mom doesn't like it and thinks it's expensive and violent... so i can't buy anymore...;_;
