Guilty of being a old-school ps2 fanboy.... Saved up for a ps3 and now regret it because hardly have any exclusives for the system (killzone2 gives me a headache and didn't get into Socom because the game designers couldn't code the game right and I was tired of the glitches/cheaters).... Now currently waxing ass left and right on UFC Undisputed and admittedly a big fan of the Dynasty/Samurai/Orochi Warriors and Tekken series *will buy Tekken 6 when it streets...

I never got into the burned games for ps2... My friends told me chipping my ps2 would jack it up in the end... the library was vast for the ps2 and like I said, I was a big fanboy of it - not the case with my ps3 though:( But I still hate how 360 controllers feel so I'm not too unhappy:) just hate the fact I shelled out for 3rd party games... Thinking about getting Little Big Planet though:am:

I can agree with you on that... Had the original Xbox and even when they shrunk the size for the second gen controller it was still too big to me - probably the main reason for me becoming a ps2 fanboy:)

If you love the metal gear series you'd love metal gear 4... At least the next chapter's no longer a sony exclusive:)

As far as I know neither will be backwards compatible with PS2 games:( Only ones with backwards compatibility with ps2 games are the 60gb and 80gb first gen ps3... and they chopped ps2 compatibility to help with the price drop on second gen ps3...

Dunno about the ps3 slim though ~ if it is backwards compatible, I'm trading in my 40gb ps3 and my ps2 QUICKLY!!!:)[/SIZE][/FONT]

I just recently upgraded to a 120gb slim from my 40gb (I just have way too many games I've kept through the years:P), and much to my dismay, it looks like Sony's keeping the newest model's non-backwards compatible (the 250gb slim model adds more internal memory for another 50 bucks... but otherwise has the same specs as the 120gb) - But it does run cooler than my old ps3 ever did, and I still have my ps2 to play my oldies-but-goodies so I can't complain - I'm stocked with ps3 games to keep me content for a very long time:happy:[/FONT]

I'm not a fan of the motion gimmick myself, as I feel it's geared to casual gamers and families more so than the core gamers.
Again, it may be too early for me to say that, but until Sony and Microsoft show me some games that don't look like Wii rip-offs, it's safe to say that both companies are trying to cash in on the gimmick that's work for Nintendo up to this point-.-

I think I'd rather have a PS2 is better than a PS3, there's so much burned games for PS2. The only reason I might get a PS3 is for the Final Fantasy series, but now FFXIII is going to come out on Xbox 360 too... and I already have a 360 =P

Only games for PC I'm looking forward to....Diablo III and Starcraft II

I want to try out MGS 4, I've only heard people say it's good, I've never played it myself, but I was always more of a Xbox fan than PS2 / PS3, mainly because of Halo. At least I can see how MGS is with the next release :)

The 60GB PAL could play too but at a lower rate due to the fact of having Software Emulation and the NTSC-U had hardware emulation << Which is like a real PS2 inbuilt :happy:
But unfortunately I haven't found those versions in any shops
All of them have the latest and the latest dont have PS2 compatibility T.T

The smaller PS2 doesn't have cooling fans XD

[FONT=Century Gothic][SIZE=3][SIZE=2][FONT=Arial]ps3 with backward compatibility like 60gb and first gen of ps3 are prone to yellow light of death... the issues on the old ps3 are fixed now... so its good to buy a slimmer ps3 the only thing is it has no OS

so if you buy an old ps3 buy 40, 80 or 120..... these series are the toughest on ps3

Unfortunately though it's catch 22, we want to play the exclusive titles then we get the console. To be honest I'm just glad I can play my PS1 games on the ps3 I got, and that my old ps2 is still going strong (since DMC1 XD).

I just hope they take the right lessons from all microsoft's fuck ups and stop ripping people off. We don't need another disgaea 3....

sony has made some steps towards redemption. They have released God of War 1 and 2 for the PS3. Maybe they'll start releasing more like it. I need Killzone 1 for PS3, it was the first and best, also had split-screen, so could play with mates. sigh! many games no longer have it. why?
Also wanting the rest of the metal gear solid series have the first and fourth.
I never got a PS2, but played at my mates place who had one. This lead to some great fun with killzone, Rainbow 6 las vegas and some starwars game, it's always better to play w/ mate next to you rather then some guy somewhere.
P.S. Killzone 3 coming out next year sometime, will probably be worse then 2. why couldn't they stay on the ISA planet longer, you know, go to the next continent or something?
