Ps4 or Xbone?

So fellows what system would you get, if you are so inclined?
Going for the PS4? Or for the Xbone?

I am a bit of a Sony fanboy. I like the playstation range and haven't touched Xbox at all. I'm not hardcore, just set in my view.
Basically I like the Sony for that reason. But also because I believe it is a better system and will have the games I want. The few system exclusive games I want are always on PS. And the computing power looks to be a beast.

I realise this is a pretty hot topic. There are always haters on both sides.

So tell us what you will get and why.

I think the PS4 is winning in sales here in Australia. Most places if they have it for pre-order and many don't, give a date of early 2014 as the earliest time you can get it. And it isn't like that is the release date for Australia, we get it Novemeber or somewhere around there. There is just so many pre-orders many places ran out of pre-orders(some how. I think they have a limit to how many orders they can place at once.)

Meanwhile Xbone (Is it supposed be pronounced as X-bone, or Xb-one?) is still available and looks well, very available.

I have always wondered which system has sold more units.
Playstation has pedigree. While Xbox has microsoft behind it....

Also discuss the merits of each system's online costs. To play multiplayer online with PS3 you need to be a plus member(? pretty sure anyway) which equals $5 a month. Not terribly much considering you get free games every month(though as to how long that lasts is unknown) and even after that you still get some niffy stuff for free.
Meanwhile Microsoft can cost you about the same as your monthly internet. I think someone said $40 a month? Sounds too much so I can't really say.
I won't be getting Plus membership unless my mate convinces me and I can get enough internet speed to play properly.

I probably could, but I want to get it the same day I pay for it.
I don't like paying so much just to wait for ages. Besides amazon has some of the worst shipping rates I have ever found. I shudder to think what it would cost to send a bulky PS4 box to Australia.
I'll wait until more games come out.

What game are you waiting for before you will order the PS4? Anything specificly? I'm waiting for Mario Smash Bro's atm but I think it will be released next year or something :P.

Elder Scrolls Online. But I have to find out if my internet is good enough to play online.
I also like the look of The Order 1886 or whatever the year was.

It also depends if my mate gets one. If he doesn't there is no point to Elder Scrolls Online for me. I just want to co-op.
So if my mate doesn't get it, neither do I.

I recently bought an Wii U for the mario and zelda games. The only thing I do dislike about the Wii U is that there are not that many games for it at this moment. I'm still waiting for better games to come out.

One problem I have is that I can't actually buy a PS4 in store. There are places where I can order it online, but the chance are by the time I order the stock will have ran out again.
In Australia we still have a chance to 'pre-order' the PS4 because they haven't really reached the shops.

Still not decided if I'll buy the Ps4 or not but am sure about not getting the Xbox(never found any appeal for that console series :P)
the PS3/4 has some exclusives that I like
and not really a fanboy of sony (maybe more of a Nintendo) but somehow I like the looks of the Sony consoles better than the Xbox (but the Nintendo ones even better than the other 2 :D )
Due to the fact that there already is a working emulator for Nintendo Gamecube/Wii I never bought the consoles but again I liked some of the games that are released on the Nintendo systems too.

I know that Beyond and Last of us are already out for the PS3 but knowing that they'll be out for the PS4 (along with Watchdogs) I am currently waiting to see how the graphics would differ from the previous console and the Microsoft console versions.

If they manage to peak my interest, then I might go for the PS4 .... but most likely when the prices drop :D and by that time if there will be any bugs, they'll get fixed with the new prices ^^

PS3 has already been hacked but unlike Nintendo there aren't any properly working PC Emulators for it.

So the sales for the consoles would go on. It's just the sales from the Game Disks that will drop(eventually) But that again would most likely be for single player games. For Multiplayer games people still need a non-hacked console so now people (with the money and the drive to have it all) will own two PS3 consoles. One hacked for single player gaming and the other for games with enticing Multiplayer support.

Also the more exclusives they take out with no chance of a PC port, the more people will be forced to get the consoles.

But again in the long run, I still think they make more of their money from the Game Disks. So again, the more singleplayer games with mediocre multiplayer experience they dish out, the more their sales would suffer.

I saw the PS4 controller in the shop and ... it looks small :o ...
I didn't get to feel it in my hand and see if it was a comfortable fit, as some kid was playing Marvel Super heroes Squad. ...
They could have showcased a better graphic extensive game to test out :P

I think there are two metal gear solid games coming out.
Phantom pain is one, you play as big boss.

They are pretty cheap as is, much cheaper than the PS3 and Xbox360 when they first came out.
But yeah, waiting for all the needed patches and updates is a good idea. Sony know they will have a million odd bug testers from day one. So I think the bugs will go pretty quick.

But the price will stay at this level for some time I think. Sony is already losing money on each console made.
The graphics should be much better, the amount of computing power and graphics they have is insane. I guess it depends on the dev's to see if they took advantage of the system power.

Didn't they say it was years before the devs started to push the limits of PS3? And there will be PS3 games coming for quite some time yet.

The PS2 production finished not very long ago apparently. Or so some Sony dude said, so they get a hell of a lot of life out of their consoles.
Yeah they make money off disc and assessories. I mean when you know your big series like Assassin Creed, Batman Arkham, Borderlands etc are going to sell like discount crack you can afford to lose money on the console.
When you think about it...
$549 for PS4(Australian dollars and the price gap isn't so big between consoles)
In games money that equals 5-6 games. Here the PS4 games are around $10-$20 more than PS3(I guess the same in America?) so $90 to $100 per game.

So Sony won't be worrying about losing money. I think the price drop on consoles will depend on game sales for PS4. Big sales, heaps of money, so Sony want to shift more consoles.
They bring out different versions yadda yadda and you get a slightly smaller HD for a better price or whatever.

Edit: What do you guys think of the controller?
I can't believe they put the start and select as the same button! One was map, the other menu. Or something like that. All to make room for a stupid share button, for crappy online things I don't have and some touch pad thing. They still have the motion thing, which I never liked. The 6axis contols or whatever.
Just let me use a PS3 controller. That is a great controller. Though R2 and L2 were a touch loose, but still that is all that needed fixing.

I wish someone who bought a PS4 and a Xbone compared them in a video and didn't just talk about features and crap. But actually using the controller, how the easy it is to navigate the menus and such.

The ones I watched, seem to think I only want to know the features. Things I knew before they released the consoles.

I might be getting a PS4 soon, my mate wants to play Elder scrolls online with me. It looks like a pretty cool game, though I heard you have to pay a fee to play. Which is fair enough, but if I had to pay for PSN to play I am not sure I would. I am pretty sure you can play online without PSN.

I really should test if my internet connection can handle online.

Right now I own neither, but I think I'd be more inclined to buy a One then a PS4.
