Just wondering who is going to get this game.
It comes out in November.
If you don't know the basis of the series. Basically you start the game and figure out what to do. You get some missions from the NPCs, but there are many, many side missions to do.
You can go and trade, buying bigger and better ships. Then go on to buy your own factories which you can either sell the product from, or use to supply other factories.
You can pilot fighters, scout ships, battle ships and carriers. You fight various factions if you wish, from pirates, to Xenon to Khaak to the other peaceful races.

Who likes the new direction?
Who likes the new gameplay and the solo ship?
Etc.
First my opinion:
I have only played X2, but I am waiting for the Super box to arrive at my house with all the games except the latest.
I love this series and I know this game will take the most hours I have ever put into a game. It is already up there with 2 Borderlands playthroughs and 2 Oblivion playthroughs.
There are Four main parts to the X games, basically the series tag line.
There isn't too much info at the moment, but more is coming quickly.
TRADE-
Basically the best way to get money on a regular basis. You start off having to buy from one place and sell at another. Or you can take supply missions where the station pays top price and a bonus for the resources. (I think this will still be in the game)
Once you have got enough to buy another ship you can send that ship off to do the trading. You can escort them or go and do something more exciting.
The next step is to build factories. These are the really money spinners, especially when you get to the stage of having a factory loop. Meaning every factory is supplied by one of your own and you effectively don't need to spend money while selling the excess products.
FIGHT- Fight the universal enemies (whoever they are) odepending on your play style, everyone else. You may only pilot a single ship, but you can fly in formation with other ships, or send them off to fight for you. I believe you can also control the ships when you dock inside them. I am not sure. But you still have the control to send them commands and control how they fight.
You can capture ships, which even if they are empty of weapons and shields can fetch a pretty price at a nearby shipyard. In X2 when I needed to make money, I capture ships to get the funds quickly.
I believe you can also send crew over to board ships. You hire the crew in the immense stations and as they fight and survive they level up.
The weapons look very cool. I like that they have changed the weapons to be different from each other. In other games the weapons mostly looked the same, just shooting out different colour beams.
Now the fights are much more immersive. You no longer have vast stretches of space to cross just for a fight(There is still a massive amount of space to explore) but in the space cities the action is fast and hot.
BUILD-
You can build an entire space city yourself. Those massive structures you see in the trailers can all be yours. You decide what to build and while they restrict a little to where you can build. They do so to make the trading easier or something (There is a good reason but I forgot)
You can build your own ships, including designating what is built on them. Such as weapons, shield generators and such.
THINK-
As always strategy is important. Your ship isn't good enough to fight every enemy and sometimes you find yourself out of position while your ships are being attacked. So the need to think, to plan your operations and the building of your empire is still there.
The various weapon and missile types available to the player also adds another level of strategy.
I am pretty excited for the game. But my system isn't good enough. They have the specs on the site and on steam.
My graphic card is just too old.T.T
So I think it will be a while before I buy the despite my obvious excitement for the game.
Anyone else got anything to say? I know there are a lot of fears and questions about the game out there.
