The cords are original, theres no rust. no manuals as far as i know. all games are playable. and yes there the 3 button controllers. the system works great.

A long time ago I know, but here some questions I would of asked

Are they the 3 button controllers
Do any of the games come with manuals?
What is the condition? Are all the cartridge feed pins all intact? What of the controller ports? Are the hook up cords all original? Is there any kinks or touchy pieces in the wires? Is there rust?

You;re probably not here anymore, but that's what I would of asked in any case

ahhh ... the old sega genesis!!! i STILL play shining force 1 & 2 from that great old gaming system! $50 is a GREAT price. O.<

i kept my Sega Genesis Shining Force 1 & 2 as well as BioHazzard. that way i legally own them and play them on the computer using "gens"
