yeah ... julie [my wife] wants flowers and our property is rock and clay-dirt. i've used the rototiller MANY times b4 - it just got away from me that last time. i would use a front tine rototiller still.

you're so right we!! i could have been SOOOO much worse!! we called 911 and an ambulance took me to Bassett hospital - about 20 minutes away. even though we're VERY rural here we have TWO hospitals nearby!!!

and here's the final picture of my knee all healed up - taken just yesterday!! the scars have flattened out quite a bit by now.

not sure about the tendons or ligaments. i think some cause my leg pulls kinda funny now when i pick it up.

i CAN walk normally now - but normal for me is using a cane for my back - so the cane helps with the leg too now. as for the muscle - about a 2.5cm x 10cm x 10cm chunk was ripped off. my knee is a little puckered in from that - i'll post a healed picture soon. the scar has shrunk to about a 5cm x 10cm scar with a line going behind my knee. they were able to sew that part up and they did a skin graft [OUCH!!] on the large hole on the side of my knee.

it was hard to walk for about 1 month. then it got better quicker.
the picture at the beginning of this thread was after 1 month. here's the first pic of my knee.
i know it's kinda blurry but it was the best i could do between bandages. @ .@

it's all healed now ... this happened in september of last year.
i'm missing some muscle but walking well on it, Thanks!

for those of you who don't know ... a rototiller is an earthchopping machine used in the garden too till up the ground. mine was a BIG rear tine machine like the one on the left - it walked right up me!!!.

I'm doing ok rj ... Thanks for asking. I hobble a little to the right, but considering the damage, i'm walking pretty good! 'course i don't walk far.
actually it hurts more sitting - the scar folds back on itself and feels like it's cut.

nope. the missing muscle is just that - missing. nothing more can be done. but all is good as far as i'm concerned!!! :silly:

EDIT:

i found out how to use my rototiller in the correct gear and have used it to do some MAJOR earth tearing lately!!!! :onion4:
keeping it FAAAAAAR away from my legs though!!! ^^ ^^ ^^

UPDATE:

well i walk with the cane all the time now, but i can WALK!!!!:P
i've been thanking God for that!!!!:angel:

Man....you sure live dangerously, Wolf! Worst injury I ever had was when my finger got smashed in a punchpress...
My brother-in-law lost a fight with a power ice-auger going fishing one year, but not as severe as yours!
