Hey folks, having seen the recent thread about how this site apparently turned to poop because of lack of hard bodied and deeply discuss-able content I have decided to creath some new threads over the next few weeks to entice some of the greater personalities and anime fans back into activity.
So here's my first one and probably one of the ones we can all have a big opinion on.
We all know about each others favourite anime and manga but what about overall styles? Now my terminology is bad, so all my description is going to be based on artists.
So here goes :)
My favourite style in anime is the later style used by Akira Toriyama in the Dragonball Z series. When his body types became less large and more angular. and the colours and shading were very definite and precise.
To be fair though I like a vast variety of styles. I'm a big fan of anything explosive and really in your face. So really disproportioned characters and ridiculous over-posing are appealing to me also. an example (more of POV and exaggeration of pose than characters) is Afro Samurai. The camera angles, character posing and animation is uber exaggerated and matches perfectly with the ridiculous people and personalities.
So what about you guys, what is/are your favourite style/s and/or artists?
