As everyone knows I'm a massive FOTNS fan, so naturally I'd get round to watching this recent spinoff based on one of Kenshiro's main adversaries, Raoh.
I just got through watching season 1 (not sure if there are any more yet) and I have to say I was quite impressed. It stayed very true to the whole FOTNS style and the backdrop. It was also nice seeing some of the back story chars from the series fleshed out a little more in Raoh's story.
I have to say though I was a bit disappointed at times with the character development. Raoh himself was very 2 dimensional and his supporting cast wasn't given enough time to really make an impact on me. That said I loved finding out about how Raoh acquires his closest comrade, the Black King.
The battles were good albeit quite vocal. I'm not a massive fan of the 'announce your ultimate special move for half an hour before I attack' ethos these guys seem to have. I also would have loved to have seen more of the hokuto shinken moves I know and love from kenshiro.
All in all though I was very happy with the story and I look forward to seeing more of Raoh's adventures in future.
I recommend to anyone who likes a bit of FOTNS or loves some good old fashioned fist to face action.
Anyone else watched this? Thoughts and feelings?
