Story:
Naota who lives in the suburbs of Mabase is a 12 year old boy who is obsessed with appearing as a Mature adult. His older brother Tasuku Nandaba, who lives in the US and plays in Minor-League Baseball is who he idolizes. After School Noata was spending his time doing homework at his usual spot with his brother's ex-girlfriend Mamimi Samejima. He was just about to tell Mamimi about his brother in America until he was abruptly interrupted. A young pink haired woman came speeding down the bridge on a yellow vespa. Before Naota was able to react. He was sent flying from her crashing into him. The Pink Haired Woman then introduces herself. She says her name is Haruko Haruhara. Mamimi still surprised by the event that has just occured was immobolized by what happened next. Haruko approached Naota as he layed lifeless on the ground and she then kisses Naota in an attempt to Bring him back to life. Naota regained conciousness. Haruko then pulls out her blue vintage left-handed electric bass guitar Rickenbacker 4001 and swings it into Naota's head sending him flying once again. Haruko, Displeased by the results wanted to go for another round but was stopped by Mamimi. Haruko Returns to her bike and just before speeding off she says to Naota that he is useless. Later that day Naota finds that there is a strange protrusion coming out of his head. Later, he is shocked to see that Haruko is now working as a live-in maid. Noata soon learns that Haruko an extraterrestrial investigator for the Galactic Space Police Brotherhood is in pursuit of a powerful Astro being named Atomsk. And that her Guitar opened a portal in his head. He also learned that the first robot that emerged from his head who was later named Canti, can manifest the power of Atomsk by using Naota as a catalyst. Since then, Giant Robots from Medical Mechanica have been coming out of Naota's head. Naota must use Canti in order to defeat them.
Characters:
Naota Nandaba- Voiced by: Jun Mizuki (Japanese), Barbara Goodson (English) The protagonist of the series.
Haruko Haruhara- Voiced by: Mayumi Shintani (Japanese), Kari Wahlgren (English) She is in puruit of the most power space pirate called Atomsk. She uses her Bass guitar to open a portal in Naota's head.
Canti- The first robot to emerge from the portal in Naota's head. He was manufactured by medical mechanica and is now being used by Naota and Haruko to help get Atomsk. It is later revealed that Canti can manifest Atomsk by using Naota as a catalyst.
Mamimi Samejima- Voiced by: Izumi Kasagi (Japanese), Stephanie Sheh (English) She is a high school student. She rarely attends school. She is a heavy smoker and a pyromaniac. She shows an interest in Naota after his brother left for America.
B Ninamori[/B]- Voiced by: Mika Itō (Japanese), Melissa Fahn (English) She is the daughter of the Mayor of Mabase and the president of Naota's sixth grade class.
Kamon Nandaba- Voiced by: Suzuki Matsuo (Japanese), Joe Martin (English) He is a would-be editor and Naota's father.
Shigekuni Nandaba- Voiced by: Hiroshi Ito (Japanese), Steve Kramer (English) Naota's grandfather, a retired baker and current manager of Tasuku's former baseball team.
Amarao- Voiced by: Kōichi Ōkura (Japanese), Dave Mallow (English) A special agent of the Bureau of Interstellar Immigration. He claims he's had a history with Haruko. He also wear fake eyebrows made of nori.
Kitsurubami- Voiced by: Chiemi Chiba (Japanese), L. Villa (English) An agent of Commander Amarao.
Tasuku Nandaba- Naota's older brother who lives in the United States and plays minor-league baseball.
Atomsk- An astro being. He can steal entire galaxies with the huge amount of N.O he posses, that is why he is called the pirate king.
My view on the series: Even though this anime only has 6 episodes. It was one of the funniest anime's I have ever seen. The anime doesn't necessarily posses a solid plot because of its randomness. But its because of these random events it has such a gravitational charm about it. All the characters are loveable. The music which was done by a group called "The Pillows" Is wonderful. It gives the anime life and is just perfect for it. I've heard others say that this anime should have a second season but I believe that it is best that its left the way it has ended. You are sure to let out quite a few laughs and enjoy this anime just as I have.
