Fansub Recruitment Thread [we may need in dire of more Translators]

If you want to apply for a position, in which all of them are hiring, you just need to fill out this guideline:

There's no limit to the # of people joining in one position as more is better. (Except the Leader position, where it is limited to 2). So far there are a few that have done this (me, Wolf, Ilasir) and we still have (I think) some members from the old fangroup active.

And for the old members, uh, since I dunno what positions you do it would be best to inform me....soon.

Kep in mind that we plan on doing some projects this Winter season.

Why you want to be in this position(s): [Leader] The fansub was dying in 2008 and all the good people left, so it was about time that a new leader stepped up and revive back FTP-A. [Editor, QC'er] I have a knack of blending in the right words for the anime and can find stuff that were missed out. [Encoder] 3+ years experience in encoding R1 DVDs and BDs. [File Distro] Uploaded almost over 5000 items, most of them anime.

Apok, if you want to be serious about fansubbing, you need to get it together with irc. There's a reason almost every other single group uses it, and if you want to get new recruits, it is the easiest place to do so, at least once ftp-a is active again. You need it if you do joints, to give status updates, and for tons of other reasons.

If you really don't want to use it, that's up to you, but you're putting yourself in the whole before you've even started.

If we're keeping the group name, ftp-a would be best as the public channel. As far as a staff channel, there's currently #knkf-ftp, and if apok gets sops from rj, then that could be used, though you'd have to set some new channel modes for privacy.

I really did have a lot of shit to take care of over break, but I sort of stopped going to irc without thinking about it, so my other groups might be a little pissed. hides in the corner

Welcome to the group, Mitsu! It's great to finally have a translator.

I agree with Meri that there aren't a lot of good shows this season. Beezlebub is definitely one of the few.

So maybe you have some suggestions?
