Does anyone here use or make mods for ReBirth?
Yes I know ReBirth is a music app and this is the GFX forum, but modding is definitely GFX!
Just curious because I have started playing around with making mods to keep my Photoshop knowledge intact, and am just for fun in the process of building a Naruto mod.... and was wondering if anyone had any tips on creating the knobs.
There's a few tutorials on knob creation, but most of them are geared towards Photoshop 5 or other obsolete programs, and I was wondering if anyone maybe had some updated tips or tricks.
So far, I have modded the basic synth image, the top nameplate bar, and the side borders, but the knob images are a PITA ! I'm trying to use a shuriken image for the knobs, but need to make like 30-40 position images for it, and that is just ONE set of knobs, lol!
If there's an actual interest here, when I'm done maybe I'll post my mod up somewhere, as I'm going to try to use some short vocal samples in the instrument mods for either the 808 or 909 drum synths. Not sure if I want to go with original Japanese, or the American, either...or maybe a mix of both.... a couple on one instrument and a couple on another.
If anyone doesn't know what I am talking about, ReBirth is the original flagship instrument that predates Propellorheads REASON. It was modeled after the 303 bass synth, and the 808 and 909 drum synths, and is a stand alone instrument. It's basically a step-sequencer, programmable, but can also be used as a plug-in instrument for Reason, Acid, Cubase, etc., and can be midi-programmed/played.
It's very oldschool, and is now legally FREE since Propellorheads decided not only to discontinue it but to give it away! You can get it at the ReBirth Museum site online.
It had a kindof big cult following back in the day, and people made all kinds of mods for it. It is not just "skinnable", but you can mod the sounds of the 2 drum machines with your own FX and/or drum hits.
For fun I decided to pull out this "classic" and see if I could create something interesting. I'm starting with anime merely because it's fun, and there's some good (and/or funny) things I can do with it! Gonna make a Hetalia mod for my kids too, lol!
Anyhow, if anyone has any tips or tricks on modding the knobs let me know! Thanks!
