This was inspired by a friend in another forum who asked why I don't write poetry anymore. Instead of ranting for pages about why I quit poetry I decided to...

I have thought about that too, I mean post some of my stuff... but you see to translate it with google or something will destroy it, bereft of the meaning I've put into the poems (or tried to put into them hehe)... however first I need to find them LOL.

I think even I can't translate it in an adequate way since I used plenty amount of rhyme in them... I'm totally in a loss to bring that from German to English.

Oh well hehe looks like I need to do some digging out then hehe... still I think it's kind of pointless since the meaning can't unfold itself without a decent knowing of the German language... IF there's meaning in my stuff... laughs

I can't translate it in an adequate way (though my English is better now I could try...) and a web translator... oh please, the results would be awkward at best LOL.

[spoiler]It's in the eye of the beholder as usual but I think we've see some good potential here... and it's great to see creative people posting their personal poem work...

Don't know the current status of actual poem's that are on sale but maybe if you're an anime fan in general you tend to be a more in depth character and as such you might be able to form some nice poems all by yourself... it's a little shallow statement but I'm just referring to the fact that many animes are of great quality considering characters and storyline so to fully enjoy such things you must bring a decent amount of sense... in my humble opinion... besides Anime in general is still not mainstream, well some series can be considered but mehhh guess you understood my point.

So many people these days are just sort of brain dead in a way no offence intented (on second thought how can one be offended without a brain inside his/her head LOL)... considering the superficially stuff (daily soaps or fashion stuff) most people consume everyday it's no wonder plenty of them are braindead by now....

Even if you are insane you most certainly have lots more brainpower than one of those sheep humans always following the newest fashion trends to be IN and consume all the sh*tty soap operas on TV, I'm not judging anyone... only my personal opinion... oh well they say "everyone gets what he deserves" so it's in depth intelligent animes and cool poems for us... I say we've got ourself a good deal looking at the alternatives laughs

Uhu guess it's the emotional part the opposites which is often used
life - death
black - white
good - bad
beautiful - ugly

... in many cases poems try to display that too. Funny is that most things lies in the eyes of the beholder... a mass murder or your butcher who likes to have some slaughter fun... to most people he's an insane brutal killer... while some other one might see he's a virtue a true master craftsman of pain with the climax art of death at the very end...

See all is relative... but I surely hope eveyone has enough sense to see the butcher is not a friend.... LOL

Guess to know the technique or how it is called is pretty much useless so better not knowing that and instead do freestyle...

You might eventually use a way of words that other recognise as certain technique, however you just do so because it sounds right LOL. That's cool!

Ok here's one off the top of my head, mostly because I don't like to think for too long, I'm afraid I'll overheat. Its about a secret yearning of mine that I think you will be suprised to know about.

Red meat is too sweat
Red meat is for me to eat
To cook keep it over heat
and of course for it to be tender
it has to be of the opposite gender

Oh I hunt and scout for my meals
never wanting to pay for the deals
You go those on the edge of the pack
those who have fallen off the back
quickly, quickly in the sack

Home, Home I go to dine
stock the fire full of pine
Roasted, fried, satay, boiled
stewed, raw or even broiled
must not let it spoil.

Ready to eat, ready to consume
what did I get, what did I assume?
Instead of prime teenage girl
I got tough old knarly squirrel
in a rage did I hurl
the fetid creature into the pot
for it is with human flesh I am besot.

Dunno if you got it, but it was about cannibalism. Right some else needs to put another poem up and it better not be pretentious! I'm off to my local jazz club, wearing my usual of all black clothes plus a berret, oops! forgot to practice my jazz hands and how to smoke a cigarette in one of those really long holders.

I like all your poems mostly because they are good and aren't pretentious peices of crap, I also sympathize with you about a future in writing poems. As someone who has trawled through dozens of publishers to see if any of them will take unsolicited manuscripts (I've no agent), in nearly of them they have stressed they won't take any poetry. Only a few small online publishers seem to want it.

Also I think I have a poem somewhere, an ode to the victim, from the werewolf and some more graphic shreds of bloody verse.

And Mark go for the German poems, German is a wonderfully emotive laugauge and I just like saying it and don't care I don't understand it. Just like when I sing along to Rammstein, I really don't care that I'm talking about Hermaphrodites (Zwitter) eating penises (Mein Teil) or even gay sex (Mann Gegen Mann) I just love the structure and rawness of it.

Monster: Inside and Out
Sometimes I have to wait for Lunar
It really just gets me there sooner
My arms are glistening red and lovely wet
Surely not killing you, we've never met
How I lust and lie to get my set.

I want to collect and display my skill
The bodies stack up, buried to make a hill
unfortunately you will have to pay
to see it and will have to stay
It rarely happens during day

It burst out a night with a moon
fun burst out with it too
someone to rip and rend, who?
muscles snap, tendons twang
Your screams, really you sang
it all ends with a large bang
when I snap the neck and hear
such lovely noises, how I snear
If only I could do it everynight
But to keep the moon in sight
just sweetens the victims plight.

And that is how you create a crap poem in 10 or so minutes.

Another cool thing i've noticed is that between Q, Griever, Mark and myself we all write poetry in different styles but still all manage to be better than a lot of the crap I see getting published these days. That's good and sad at the same time.

Dude I just rhymed the words, I don't know what stanzas are but thanks. I like descriptive poems and such. Here is a 'rant' for want of a better word, of a disembodied evil spirit that turns everybody mad if they are touched by it. It is the by product of a city that turned on itself and everybody killed everybody.
It is from a favourite series of books of mine called The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. enjoy

the author was out to show this spirit was seriously messed up, I think it worked.

True, but there is so much depth and interesting nouns, adjectives and ideas in blood and gore. It is combining love and pain to twist or ideas on there heads. Nothing like a good murder to jolt you from being a sheep back to a human. How many people go through life in a daze and when they wake up, it is often a grisly deatil to do so, such as a murder or somone being eaten

Edit: Ok since people seem to think I like blood and stuff, I've decided to make another poem to get the police off my case, ah I mean the pigs

They are always involved so violently

They have spots of colour to distract
do they want us to painfully crawl back?
Do we worship and pray to enact?
Why is it we get involved in these ploys?
I wish to escape to get back to the joy.

But in my poems I like to rhyme twice, then thrice or in reverse. I also like to rhyme the whole word if I can, but that is difficult.
BTW there is a rhyme for orange, it is the name of some welsh town. learnt that on QI.
