At present there haven't been any core breaches at any reactors. If that happens you're gonna be looking at massive radioactive fallout. The damage to Japans ecology and ecosystems would still be there in decades possibly centuries to come.
What Japan has going for it is it's strong national pride. As a nation they are very strong united. Expect that to carry them through the disaster.
I'm just waiting to see now what happens to the rest of the world. Financially this is going to affect a lot of big businesses. Also, Japan was a forerunner of using nuclear fuel. If it is proven that nuclear fuel can be affected by such a disaster then many countries will be reluctant to take it up as a an energy source sparking another possible fuel crisis.
And that's what I've seen at a glance.
Things are going to get much worse before they get better, my prayers are with them.
