One of the best guys around is Jack White from the White Stripes and I also challenge anyone to dismiss the guitar skills of Matthew Bellamy from Muse. Seriously these guys are awesome, and they can sing properly.
And for not knowing what gender a person is look no further then AFI and Placebo frontpeoples, I still don't know whether they are men or women.
