hey gamers - just gor SCII and problems right out of the box. installed and it wanted to AUTOMATICALLY on it's own download and install updates without my consent or permission!!!muhahaha
i used CTL+ALT+DEL and killed it - then went to blizzard and downloaded the 1.0.3 patch and installed it myself! no stupid computer highjacks MY internet!! well ... er ... not for long anyway ...:happy:
then i tryed to play and couldn't until i'd made an account on battle.net [1 MORE hour!!] then FIIINALLY!!! i could play!! :m-happy2:
BUT ONLY ONLINE!!!!!well there's two work arounds:

play as a "GUEST" of myself :damn:
2: click the "PLAY OFFLINE" button that disappears SO FAST I CAN"T CLICK IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

;_; I hate SC2 cause Acti-blizzard only included one campaign ( the rest will be DLC which they will sell.....)

^^ I like SC2 included campaign! ( and also a solid multiplayer)

yeah..... well... what's done is done.. u might as well try to enjoy it. there's tower defense and other custom games some are worth trying. =D
story's rich but a little too short........... i just wish the next expansion will be cheaper..

SC2IS all about multiplayer... If you dont play that then it's not worth buying the original.

but despite all that has been said.... I dare say I enjoyed the story very much(campaign) and wish to see the next 2 expansion Heart of Swarm and Legacy of the Void.

It's very very hard to get a RTS game as nice as SC2 nowadays; the perfect example will be EA's Red Alert 3 and Tiberium Wars. Heck! I didn't even got myself to torrent for the Ken's Wrath let alone buy it.

As for the multiplayer, it is easy to access and play, all you have to do is click on the map and click join to well.. .join a game; and if you have friends you can form a party so that whenever the party leader creates a game the others party members will automatically joined in.

Blizzard is really doing it's best to satisfy the players with it's patch updates with both major or minor changes and it's all for the player's comfort.

I refuse to even play starcraft 2 till the price comes down!This game`s value to me is only worth $30 at the most!For $60 I can get 3 older titles that are way more entertaining and they will have all the patches and mods to last me for the next 6 months.

Lol, everything was easier when people couldnt hack, pirate and cheat in games. Today, companies are taking draconian measures to protect their interests from "criminals" and like minded individuals. This results in a massive downgrade to the experience of legitimate buyers of the game, but at no reduction to the cost. Blizzard even had the gall to charge $60 for SC2 (although I think Activision is to blame for that). Although I want to play the game, the ass rape of the convenience we had before really put a dent in my expectations. I will only play the game for the single player and will never touch the multiplayer, and for that its not worth a purchase to me because the game is almost all about multiplayer, just like the Halo franchise went after the first game. Also, I just dont like the new graphics at all. The gritty feel of the original with its special atmosphere and outdated effects combined with near terrifying cinematics actually helped the game, not detriment it. The new one is too colorful, too bubbly and overall too "nice". We will see however. Sorry for all the complaining, but I thought I should throw that out there for now, as the changes arent really innovative. Starcraft 2 used the same gameplay mechanics and try to spice it up with an updated graphics engine and more units, lol...it didnt work. Sorry Blizzard, but I doubt you needed to make your first dedicated failure of a game be in the Starcraft lineup. Signing off...

Exactly, they are cartoony. I just dont think Blizzard themselves fully appreciate the brutality of the Starcraft universe. They tried to make it appeal to more people, which most of the time ends in failure as the original people who liked the original features simply walk away.

The game is still new. Give it some time. In fact, a major patch AND a ladder reset is coming.

ok so i called my son [who's 26 and has already played it] to give it to him but he told me there's an easier way to play offline [#2 from previous thread] so i'm gonna mess with it somemore.

i used to have my own computer business and am usually very good on computers with new programs sooooo ...

i died in the first map -they gave me jim raynor and 5 marines and i killed everything til 2/3's the way up - i gotta call tim and see wtf[lip] i gotta do!!!

well i downloaded the update patch file [thanx to kamikazee!] and after more than 15 minutes of installing is is updated - i think. now the updated software wants me to update my video driver!!! so i'll go where it sends me and then we'll see ...
