rjd22 Shakespeare novels are great novels to animate. something like Lord of The rings is also a good book to animate since everything is possible in anime :P
rjd22 I hope it comes out soon so you can watch it when you have to write a homework thing for it for school :P
brokenhands Vladimir;5113 wroteYou don't sound too thrilled... I think the Bard only works on stage. Whenever folks put his works on the big screen, they get the urge to be "creative" Creative on a work that's already good the way it is. Course that only seems to happen in American movie productions. Kurosawa did good work with Shakespeare when he made Ran, and Throne of Blood. So maybe the Japanese anime producers will follow Kurosawa's lead.
brokenhands Vladimir;5119 wroteYeah, we'll see... I'm hoping for a more mature-themed anime instead of cute lil characters running around... Those types of anime are reserved for Japanese folk tales. There's a good series I watched called Legend of the Dog Warriors. AnimeOnDVD.com >> Disc Reviews >> Hakkenden, Legend of the Dog Warriors It's pretty serious, and there's a different guest artist working on each episode. It gets dry in some areas, but it's one of the more intense animes.
brokenhands Vladimir;5156 wroteHmm..great, so all I need is to open your head :D evil grin I'm downloadin' that anime atm btw, I'm quite excited about it. If you open my head, make sure to use a torque wrench when you put the bolts back on.
brokenhands Vladimir;6062 wroteI've seen the first few episodes and so far it looks pretty cool! Just too bad the animation is so old, but still looks awesome. OLD! Hmph, well I guess it was awhile ago. I forget just how old I am sometimes. 25% of my life gone already. And all I have to show for it is this holding hentai collection Wonder if it's too late to join the Peace Corps?
brokenhands Vladimir;6826 wroteAnd donate your hentai collection to them? Hell no, folks in the Peace Corps are hippies, all they like is veggie porn. Oh and to stay on topic...Othello.
brokenhands Vladimir;6898 wroteI wouldn't mind seeing Shakespear in anime form as long as it's dubbed with the same speech used in the old days and the words are taken word for word from his books. (And they dubbing has to be perfect, proper voice actors needed!) Shakespeare in Medeval Japanese? Well I guess they could find traditional actors. But then it would seem so Kurosawian.
brokenhands Akira Kurosawa. He made these fantastic Japanese epic films. Lots of them based on Shakespeare.

I've already come across Romeo X Juliet. I wonder what other Shakespeare novels will be animated.
Vladimir [quote1185724072=jojohn] any idea for the anime version of these? i think the hamlet would be bitchin [/quote1185724072] Haha, yeah. I'd like to see Hamlet as well. Would we funny if they started talking in an old fashioned English way.
Vladimir brokenhands;5043 wroteFirst that modern version of Titus Andronicus with Anthony Hopkins, and now this. You don't sound too thrilled...
