Welcome to the party! Glad you all could make it..... errrr...I mean....
Hello! Thank you for inviting me to your party! :pcheers1:
I found this nice little treasure-trove while doing a search for Dance in the Vampire Bund, as most of the sites I belong to don't seem to have it for some reason. Must be too new yet I guess.
A bit about myself.... I am a paralegal student currently at a local Business Institute, after losing my job of 13 years in a plastics shop..... :51:
I've been watching anime for a lot longer than "most" anime fans, at least here in America....my first "unofficial" ones PROBABLY being the Americanized versions "Battle of the Planets" (Gatchaman), and "Starblazers" to name two I remember.
My first "official" would probably be Vampire Hunter D, Castle of Cagliostro, Fist of the North Star, and the infamous Urotsukidoji (Legend of the Overfiend) as those had been advertised in a Heavy Metal magazine back around 1989-1991 somewhere.
Finally found a local video store back in '92 that sold the old anime on VHS (dvd wasn't all that big back then, lol!), and started buying the Slayers and Record of Lodoss War series. Been hooked ever since, and have a decent collection of both VHS and DVD anime,as well as dl's. I really do prefer actually paying for and owning, however being unemployed as well as being an American limited to "previously viewed" and "whatever BestBuy has on the shelves at a REASONABLE cost"....sometimes you have to take what you can get to keep up, and pay when you can afford!
(so, for all the piracy naysayers out there.... keep America CURRENT, keep videos AFFORDABLE, and get off the greed kick! ) :damn:
Anyhow, I've been around, am on many types of sites, and I'll refrain from naming any, as most sites actually frown on this and some even stoop to flaming each other....
suffice it to say, I'm not a young kid, been "around the block", been an "online musician" at one site since about 1999, been a "higher-ranking staff member" of another type of site that is now non-existant, and am a member of a few other sites including anime-related.
I like that this is a V-Bulletin site... got accustomed to that and the regular controls on my old site. This site has a nice familiar "feel" to it!
Anyhow, that's me, in a nutshell. Any questions?
(and if you happen to be Jessica Alba, I'll be more than happy to meet with you to answer them IN PERSON.... hehehe....)
