i started this topic since no one realli responded to the death note thread but i'll start first i think the sadest anime is hanayori dango its kind...

yes death note indeed made me cry at the last episode. I wished light would stop using death note but seeing light die in made me cry a little.

For me there were a few

first time i saw transformers the animated movie when optmus dies and rod-amus is born
Major countless eps in that show alone made me cry (love it, hate the way they finished it thou)
Full metal panic second raid final ep
robotech the Christmas ep

I could say I was pretty near to shedding a tear from watching "Grave of the Fireflies". That anime movie was the most beautifully orchestrated piece I've seen back then...Probably still the best even now.

I shed a couple of man tears over Naruto myself. Some of them weren't necessarily intense emotional tear jerkers..but the episode i think that was executed the best was, "The Gallant Jaraiya". I think his death overshadows all the others so far. The Third Hokage comes in a close second.

Am I the only one who found Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood really emotional? That one had a lot of really sad episodes. Last Exile had a few too.
