i started this topic since no one realli responded to the death note thread but i'll start first i think the sadest anime is hanayori dango its kind...

I cry easy when noone's watching.Cowboy Bebop..middle and end. Err...Soltyrei, anyone? Some idiotic poster on a forum mentioned Fruits Basket was sad, so like the trusting idiot I was, I avoided it for over a year and later watched it anyway..what sad? pmmph!To each his own.
Nowadays I vet the animes before watching- will not touch heartbreak endings.

Code Geass ending was sure a sad one. It brought me to tears.. But I prefer Clannad Afterstory or Saikano for the sad effects, they really got me there. Why don't you try those? n_n

Romeo X Juliet made me grow crops with my tears! Absolutely the best romance anime. As a matter of fact, I'm currently re-downloading the episodes in MKV format.

Kanon was the cloest I've ever come to shedding a tear while watching anime. I try to stay away from animes that are likely to make me cry (grave of fireflies).

definitely Grave of the Fireflies (火垂るの墓, Hotaru no Haka)...

me and my buddy were like WTF?!?! we thought the movie is going to be like Totoro or Kiki's Delivery Service..

For those who have not watch... this anime is A MUST WATCH.. AT LEAST ONCE.. you won't regret it.

The best of all the animes is Grave of the fire flies...a truly awesome movie.

That one made me tear up pretty good.

Grave of the Fireflies would be the saddest anime I've seen. After the second watch I couldn't watch it again. It's such a sad movie.
