What made you get into anime?

I used to make fun of this one kid in high school but for some reason i went on the internet oh yeah it was for naruto shippuden. i wanted to check it out and before you know it, i was checking out almost all anime and i never stopped. so how do you guys/girls get into anime?:hanabi:

Well i was on a lanparty and saw bleach i downloaded it it where then 23 episode's i downloaded it and watched it and i liked it so i came to skool and told it to a friend and he gave 50 episodes of naruto watched those and liked it asswell and so it started

Old school but....I only watched those anime in 90's so.....They are older than me. Still, its a great awakening for me that these cartoons exist.

But the greatest reason I got looked watching anime is this

Fujiko..ehh I mean Lupin The 3rd!

Now I'm pretty a fan of mecha/action/adventure/ecchi animes.

I have been watching animes since I was a kid but that was just for entertainment. I really got into anime after I saw 5cm per Second and first season of Bleach where it was still great.

my friend bought a swedish translated manga of Love hina, and later on he showed me a episode of naruto, so yeah i started reading a lot as a beginning but now i watch anime more than reading.

it was Ninja Scroll ... plain and simple. the humor,the art, the swordplay, the magiks, and the storyline was GREAT. since then i'm watching ALOT of Pokemon Battle Dimension, plus some downloaded.

Ninja Scroll is still the bomb. Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle also.

i've attributed my start in anime with Ninja Scroll [the clean version] but actually it's because of this forum- FTP-Anime!!! i joined in March 2009 and have been watching anime ever since!!!

Hmmmm.... What made me get into anime huh...

I'm not really sure actually.
I know that I used to watch some when I was a kid but that is about all I can remember about it.

I guess it is probably because there are so many different stories and ideas and all kinds of things that can't happen in real life are made to seem more normal. I kinda like that idea. The bit of fantasy and all.

Then again I like the ones that are just like real life too... I guess I can't really say what it was that made me get into anime then.

My brother got me into anime :D he started watching it on tv and i joined him but o.oit was a hentai so i was totally put off anime becus i thought that was what all anime was like :P but then he got Chobits and Full Metal Panic and i was hooked hehe :D ^^ now anime is my life :inlove:

I started before DB and DBZ in the late 70's early 80's with Star Blazer, Granddizer, and Van Guard Ace. Didn't think anything of it until I saw DB with my kids and I told them I saw that when I was there age and then it went crazy. Now I'm looking for complete series to watch with them and some for myself when they're in bed because they are a little too young for some of it.

A friend turned me on to the first berserk manga. I saw Gutz swing a giant sword with his teeth and that was it for me. I've been loving it ever since.

When I first saw an anime show, I didn't even know it was called anime. I used to see a lot of occidental cartoons like Popeye, Tom and Jerry, Swat Kats, etc. I was interested because the quality of the drawing and animation was different and because the first anime I saw had combat. First taste of anime was Dragon Ball. First full serving of anime was Samurai X: The Animation on HBO Asia.:hanabi:

Man... I feel a bit old disclosing this then; for me I was first introduced to Japanimation (as it was referred then) by an older friend of mine in middle school.
We watched the English dubs of Guyver, after that I was hooked. I had never seen such over the top action in film or animation until then.

Even now me and the wife still catch a few new series when we have the time.
