LIVE ACTION MOVIE adaptations of anime/manga doing justice?

What do you think of live action adaptations of anime/manga? Are they doing justice to the original anime/manga idea?:o:shy:

Some have mixed feelings about the dragon ball hollywood adaptation. Some have shouted blasphemy at the live action of king of fighters or street fighter. (Are they still going through with that):worried:

This is the place ladies and gentlemen. :D What's your opinion?

I'd say that all versions have their own good and bad points
well i guess you cant go wrong in animated versions :P
but still I liked some of the live action films
doesn't matter to me if they go or don't go with manga and or anime story :D

Isn't there a New Tekken Live Action around the corner or something?
Yeah I too heard something about a Live action KOF :inlove:
but It's still all hush hush; as far as I read, but then again that was quite some time ago.
I'm not aware of the current status of KOF

On a side note:: A new Mortal Kombat Movie is in the making ^_

hmm... but when it comes to american material, we can usualy get it right. V for Vendetta anyone? how bout watchmen? all great live action adaptions.

I wish they would leave well enough alone. Just because we have computers for special effects does not mean they can make a mockery of what we love. Such as Speed Racer, Dragon Ball ... etc.

as far as anime or video games adaptations... I've yet to see one that lived up to my hopes - expectation is a bit too much for me to use.... movie execs are only looking at the short term when it come to this (Silent Hill is the one exception I could think of in terms of true adaptation - Shinobi [Basilisk live-action] was another, but made in Japan). It's almost impossible to squeeze a popular series like Dragonball into a 2 hr (MAX) movie without leaving out some details, and to me that only makes these "adaptations" into interpretations that most of the time lose the reason why people wanted to make these movies in the first place:worried: Sucks when making money becomes the driving force....:(

For the most part I despise live-action adaptations of anime and videogames. It's usually done horribly wrong and by people who don't completely understand the source material. Infact I can only think of 2 examples offhand when it's been done well. Nana and Deathnote

I don't mind if the story differs here and there because it can still end up good (Silent Hill) The problem is that most American adaptations on anime and videogames not only ruin the story but spit in the face of the characters that we know and love (Resident Evil, Dragonball, DOA, Anything from Uwe Boll)

Just checked out the trailer for The Last Airbender. Almost vomited at most of the casting. Somewhat decent Aang though.

Akira as a film? well let's just hope they do it right. But then again I can see it looking like a realy bad Fast and Furious clone....

when i think of Live action anime/manga movie. Death note is perfect but then again hollywood is gonna make Akira Live Action american movie with Leo D Crapeo, yeah enough said with that. Dragon ball was one of the animes i wanted to see live action and when i heard it was gonna be done i was happy at first but i had doubt if they didnt do it right or if it wasnt going to look right. just say i was sad when i went to movies and left like 25 min into it. it was that horrible to me. also a good live action i liked was grave of the fireflies.
