As far as who uploads, I'll let rjd22 decide who does this. Since you're an uploader, I'm sure you'll get priority over most. I plan on having an "upload area" and going once every week, at the least, and sorting the files. I'm sure you'll be impressed with what's already going to be there and how clean it will be. Word of warning: 2 of the the 750s are pretty much full. Also, I plan on having permissions and such to limit issues such as this, so most will get read-only or a small amount of upload space, and people like you uploaders will get more open permissions (read-write) to help sort.

I was planning on giving you an ssh login with moderate wheel priviledges, but the ftp user database will be in a postgres database for ease of management and scalability. I'm going to try pure-ftpd with postgres user db on arch linux. I may move to vsftpd depending on the performance of pure-ftpd, but I'm trying pure-ftpd first as it also has bandwidth and group style permissions from the database. I'm more than happy to chat in much more detail over PMs.
To tomdawes,
Thank you for your kind words. I'm short on time so torrents are kind of out of the question (the 6 I uploaded took an entire evening, and I've got a ton of them). I wanted to help, and since I'm trying to get a job as a server admin, I figured this would be good experience too. And can't forget the bragging rights: "I run a multi-terabyte file server for a sweet forum! Take that geeks!" (smiley)
