I'd rather say it's you, "ProudAsianKid", who is the racist, not the american who cosplay as Anime Charas.
When I'm looking a cartoon or playing a game, my kudos go to the developer - not to the country. So, if I like Phantasy Star Universe (just for example... I love the game, just got it yesterday), I won't thank whole japan. I'm thanking Sonic Team, the developer, and SEGA, the publisher.
I think it's just ridiculous, being proud of something you didn't achieve yourself. I couldn't be proud of my skin color; because I didn't do anything to get it. But if I'm writing a song or give a concert (just for example. I founded a Rockband and am the most active member), I am damn proud of it. Why? Because I did it myself. My song doesn't belong to Switzerland, where I live. The song belongs to ME. It doesn't get me upset if an asian, an american or an african likes my song and sings along with the lyrics I wrote. Quite the contrary! I'm even more proud, that my music got attention from different cultures. I don't care what's their skin, hair, expression.
How can you be so damn limited and just look on the outside of the people? It's no wonder your nickname is "ProudAsianKid". Don't get me wrong, I have nothing agains asians. But I don't set them higher or lower than others. For me, it's the personality that counts.
But when I see something like this, I just ask myself what's wrong in this world. This is racism at it's best. I guess you (ProudAsianKid) know, that each human is an individual. Heck, even computers are individual - each of them has their own serial number. But that's not the topic here.
Now, let's see... here in Switzerland, we have all kinds of people. My friends here come from all over the world. I have some who came from America, Asia, Africa, Europe - we're multicultural. Let's say we're all watching a few episodes of an Anime, and then the american guy comes to an idea: "Hey, those characters actually look awesome. Why don't we cosplay them, just for fun?".
What should the asian now be doing? He surely wouldn't answer "No, never. Even if you're my friend, you're just not asian! Forget it! You weren't born in the same shape of land as I was, so don't even think about cosplaying as this random anime guy. You don't have the right colour skin, you don't have the right face for that and you're just not japanese."
Heck, that makes this whole Anime-thing look like a sect. Nobody's allowed to have fun, if they're not asian?
Besides... in the Final Fantasy series, you ALWAYS have multicultural people. They're not all japanese. So the statement, that japanese Anime and Game-characters are always influenced by japanese people, is wrong.
Or what about Sonic Unleashed/Sonic World Adventure, for example. It was made in japan, but hell - there are all kinds of countrys, but japan isn't even in it. Should all these countrys blame japan for that? In this game, there are african, american, greeks, british, chinese, etc... should all these countrys blame this game, because it came from japan and as we know, japanese aren't african, american or whatever?
I could find thousand of arguments why your statement sucks.
If you're too lazy to read this text, ProudAsianKid, I'll make it short for you:
The real racist in here is you.
I don't know if you will even come again to FTPA, because you're a one-time-poster. I guess you just registered here, so you can advertise your underexposed video on youtube.
God, I'm happy there aren't a lot of the likes of you.

Oh, I always wanted to see some japanese guy cosplaying "Bobobo Bo Bobobo". He surely has japanese hair, colour, expression, etc... and I guess all of you know Mr. Satan from Dragonball. Heck, what's so asian about him?
