What happens when you take mythology, religion ,politics, and conspiracy theory , add liberal amount s
of blood and fanservice , mix well , The grossest smoothie ever .
you guess right , I like to talk about a (Island ) , which i brought to yu guys earlier , but befor that aliitel plot summery should be nice .
Cheju Island is a tourist spot off the coast of Korea. With 45 giant
Tolharubang statues erected around the island, Cheju is a land out of time.
Like the Moai of Easter Island, no one knows who built the Tolharubangs,
or why they were built. But locals believe the statues are guardians from
evil spirits - demons that devour human souls.
Miho has no time for superstitions. She came to Cheju Island to begin
a new life and work as a teacher. But nothing prepared this rich daddy’s
girl, who’s been coddled all her life, for what she finds upon her arrival
the body of a young woman, mauled almost beyond recognition. And with the
woman’s killer close behind, old myths and superstitions prove deadly real
in a killer that is something less than human.
No Tolharubang can save her, and Miho only escapes with her life with the
help of the mysterious Pan. With a stone cold, icy stare he walks among
monsters with no fear, and kills with ease. A guardian of a different
sort, is he a hero or an even greater monster?
In a world where everything Miho knew to be true is false; where the
shadows kill and demons walk the Earth, while staring at Pan's blade, she
may learn the purest evil resides in the heart of man.
This is my first Manhwa ( is the general Korean term for comics and cartoons ) , since most of the
comic books ( manga ) I hve ever read was about japan and japan >>>
If the word horror exist in your recipe , you'd have Island ,a supernatural horror story from two
talented men of Korea . Island is a strange conglomerate of fantasy and reality that uses history
and urban legends from different cultures as a backdrop to monsters getting cut into nasty bits in
impressive ways . I think the comic deserves plenty of credit for its uniqe story,The only weak point
I could find was , The action sequences are confusingly rendered .
