Install that one. You'll find it under system tools after that. Start it and it will find a new ATI driver for you.
There you should find an option. I can't tell you exactly where, since i have a GeForce. I also used Envy to install Nvidia XServer and i then could get both my monitors running.

instead of deleting it maybe a archive would be a better idea, when posts are left for months on end with no replies just dump them in the archive. what ive noticed with old things that get left on a shelf is one day you decide to throw it away and then soon after you kick yourself as its suddenly needed or would prove to be useful.

1/ try smplayer ive found this to be the best media player to use in ubuntu to install it open up package manager and search for smplayer and install

2/ does the usb stick work in another PC ? if so insert into another pc boot up the PC then turn the PC off (sounds silly but there's a reason for this) then plug it into the ubuntu PC and turn the PC on if it still isn't recognized open up the the terminal and type sudo fdisk -l then copy and paste the read out here please i can then take a look and maybe help you out....
