Help to revive my Laptop!

well, yesterday I was happily using my LAPTOP

and sometime somehow it completely freeze, but somehow the mouse still working...

i let it there for like 15-20 min, to see if it comes back to life again, but no results

so, forced shutdown, and after that it never wake up again

i doesn't even show the Bios, neither even BOOT up, show nothing on the screen i mean NOTHING . it just light the power led, caps lock and num lock lights, an stay there like for 15 sec, and die again !!!

looking like crazy for any help, but nothing helpful !!!

if someone has a better help, not just to tell me my laptop is DEAD !!!! i would gladly accept any help XD !!!

The issue sounded like typical laptop overheat. Usually thermal grease and cooling kit that snaps on the laptop fix the problem. If the chip isn't burned out already.

Have you considered the fact that your laptop screen might be disabled somehow, which prevents you from seeing anything. Because you said the power does go on.

Your mainboard is dead. Try sales return. If not possible, then your only choice is to buy a new one. But you can take the disk from the old one and try to get data from it.

Now, that I think of it... You can try to clean the insides from dust. If it won' work after that. Just say Sayonara ;)

Heh... in this case, you probably burned CPU... MB could be burned harder. I thought of some electric short circuit => MB failure. But if it's about heat then 90% CPU

Look over google, there should be special case for NB HDD's to use in PC's. It is probably the cheapest and easiest solution.

I prefer burning DVD's. They last longer than HDD's and are less vulnerable to physical damage. The size is however another issue...
I found this on one forum, I hope it helps

If it's an older IDE Notebook HDD, you'll need an external Case 
or a 2.5" to 3.5" Mobile HDD adapter, 
to connect to a PC with IDE cables. 

What type of Laptop HDD is this? 

If it is SATA even though it is, 2.5" the SATA connectors are the same
 as the 3.5" SATA HDD's in Tower PC's 

If you have one(a Tower PC with SATA), or know someone with a PC 
that has an open SATA Connection, you could connect it to that, 
and copy your data off, onto a USB drive, like someone else suggested. 

with a Mobile HDD, the chance of CS(cable select) "Burning out" as the one 
respondant put it is at about the odds 
of getting hit by lightning, in space or killed in a shark attack. in the Himalayas

yepp has to be mainboard...

Stop using the laptop in your bed or on your knee and block the ventilation holes.....

My sister has done the same thing several times and it has died 3 times once it have had the mainboard switched then second it was revived by me and killed 3 days later by my sister once again.....

Always keep the laptop/notebook on a flat place such as a table and not on a blanket....

I really don't think its possible to revive it unless you get a new mainboard to it, if you still have insurance then use it...

Send the NB to me and i will open it up replace the Main board with another one of a former NB i have lying around then i "borrow" all anime you have there and later on send it back after some installations :)

a well i don't have in my external HDD since they wont fit in it :P

well you lost 2 anime and other important stuff in the comp if you don't take the HDD inside the laptop and connect it into another computer....

i will love, but since im in Guatemala, i think its really hard to do it !!!

an even i didn't have much anime there just like 2 animes !!!

all my othre anime is in DVD, and in external HDD

!!! just in case, something like this happens !!!!

yeah, thats what i was thinking, i'm still looking for that
even it could help as another back up HDD, or for more anime XD :m-bata:

the bad thing, is that now, i'll have to buy a new laptop... since all the time i'm in U and to bring the PC is to hard and lame to do it !!!

Did you have heat monitoring pgm installed in 'buntu , mjsh83 ( called ksensor in kde ,( go figure)), not all low level stuff is "auto-magically " installed even in suse ( they're pretty anal 'bout control },
